I'm one of "those" prepper guys.  I'm mailing bread making yeast to family today.
Stores have run out and she asked for some help.
If you are buying guns and ammo now you have a problem!
It is too late!

I saw that posted/shared last night.  I refuse to give them business or send anyone I know there.  If people have shared positive things, I just listen politely, but I won't give them one cent of my money.

Discussing various needs via texts with various friends, ammo included.  Flat out giving ammo to some friends (more urgent need) or at cost to others (who want to slightly bolster their supply).  That said, seeing a lot of profiteering and not just the shop in the OP.  That's fine as businesses and people have the right to sell what they have for the price of their choosing.  I'll just say that I think in general, the 2A community generally knows what is reasonable going rates and take notice on those who are "profit taking" to an extreme.  Similar to CTD shenanigans, I remember what they did back in the day and refuse to shop with them.

That has to be a typo, no?  That place is a major ripoff to begin with, long before this recent craze, asking 'crazy person' prices for firearms (Glocks for $700+), ammo (5.56, .223/$1.50 per round), "gunsmithing services" (dude tried to pass off a gouge in my friends barrel as a divot for the gas block screw!!!  Wasn't even lined up), and novelty accessories (a lot of their stuff is toy-cheapy crap that fall to pieces in no time, what little legit stuff they have you need a loan to buy from them).  Then they ask $100 for FFL transfer.  I don't know what goes into being an FFL, but there has to be something wrong when there are FFL's out there that are only charging a fraction of that insane price.  And not even going to begin with their ridiculously run range.  But this is next level gouge!  You can practically buy 3 shotguns for that!  I was done with that place when the worker didn't know what a castle nut was... Sorry to go off but these guys are a real joke...  I hope that was a typo...

I can just picture you training a Democrat. Probably go something like this.  "Ok, after loading your weapon and making sure it is ready to fire, look down the barrel and press the tigger.to make sure the round is discharging properly.  Use a stick if you can't reach the trigger."

Maybe a premium for keeping the HPD registration desk open during these times?
I wrote a letter in support of developing a range awhile ago...<crickets>

Isn’t MSRP on those around $800, with places selling for less before the panic ?
Definitely small kine panic gouge. Or maybe not as it sounds like they charge way over MSRP normally.

I used to go there for minor smithing from Brian.
But that was before they became membership required. ( Is membership fee still required for purchase?)
Haven’t been there since.

Country Club of gun shops and ranges ?

Just checked website. Basic Handgun Safety course. Only $299.

That place IS a major ripoff!! I refuse to give them any on my money and I’m always directing people away from them.

I was going by Mossberg’s MSRP, which theoretically should be the highest you find it.

You’re right though. Normal market value is way less.
(Pretty much all sold out though hence the panic gouge)

The "gunsmithing" I saw was a range between hobbiest level to basic assembly.  Maybe they've improved.  A buddy's coworker came to the range with us one day and had a Glock 43 and an M&P 45 that were "smithed".  Well, the 43 was malfunctioning alot and he mentioned that they did a "trigger job" and tweaked the extractor.  The extractor explained the failures to extract and the "trigger job" explained the occasional misfire (later found to be light primer strikes).  I've also seen some of their AR builds.

Anyways, their business and free to run how they see fit.  I just won't stand to have friends ripped off.  [end rant]

Moving on.  Lots of other really good shops out there to support.  Folks that I've known for years, have shot a lot with and gotten to know outside of the business setting and they are good people.  Need more of them.

Federal site has the 147gr listed at $17.99/box MSRP, which makes $359.80 for 1K rounds.

Edit: Prices went up due to increased production.

Shouldn’t prices go down if production increased?
