Some of the hottest guns on the market today are compact and subcompact guns designed for concealed carry.

With that in mind, I've decided to compare 4 pocket sized pistols.

I chose the
Glock 23 (40S&W)
Glock 27 (40S&W)
Sig Sauer P290 (9mm)
Kimber compact CDP II (45acp)

The Sig is tiny. It is very slim and short. 5.5" long and 3.9" tall & 1.1" wide. It is the smallest of this quartet. The capacity is 6 in the standard magazine and 8 in the extended magazine.

The Glock 27 is the next smallest of the bunch, 6.29" long, 4.17" tall & 1.18" wide. With a 9+1 capacity, it packs a lot of heat in a tiny package.

The Glock 23 is next at 6.85" long, 5.0" tall & 1.18" wide. It packs a generous 13+1 rounds of 40 caliber goodness.

The CDP II is 7.7" long, 4.75" tall & 1.28" wide. It has a 7+1 capacity.

All of these guns feel good in the hand. I especially like the way the Glock 23 fits my hand.

All of these guns are extremely concealable and would fit the role of a CCW pistol. The question you have to ask yourself is if you want ultra tiny or 45acp or 13+1 rounds of 40.

M&P compact?

Springfield XD 45 compact. The legal limit (10) of rounds that I already reload and a platform I'm already familiar with and have confidence in.

But, of the given choices... the Glock 27. I like .40 S&W and don't like carrying a gun that ~can~ hold more than 10 when I can't do so.

 

I'd have to go with the cdpII. I have no problem with 9 or 40 but I prefer a .45

I voted for the Glock 27, just cause I've actually shot it from these three.  The M&P shield intrigues me as well, available in 9 or 40.  Less than an inch thick.

I'm going with the CDP II. I love .45's!!
