I went to the bank yesterday.  I initially forgot my mask in my car, but put it on before going in.  They had a security guard at the entrance.  Didn't say anything to me.  There wasn't a line, so went right up.  I had a deposit and a withdrawal.  Gave the teller my license and she did her thing.  Didn't ask me to take off my mask.  They did have the plexiglas "sneeze guard" but it was actually quite limited coverage.  That and the teller and I both ended up having to speak near the "transaction hole" to hear each other clearly.

RE: bank

My bank had a chair in front of each teller window.
This was to keep people from getting too close.
You are not supposed to touch the chair.
Stupidest thing ever.

But seriously, I have a cloth face mask with a copper sheet liner/insert.  I use that mask most often.  I have a bunch of KN95 masks that I ordered mostly for my sister (who is technically at risk) and her husband.  I was able to find a supplier that's on the FDA authorized respirator mask list.  I have used them a few times, but not that often.\

I also have some "illegal per the Mayor" N95 masks, but gave most to a cousin who is a nurse and was on the CV19 unit in her hospital in Portland.

One of those cheap assed wood workers masks except it is blue
instead of white. It was a gift from a nurse who works at a prison in CA.
Seems appropriate to use the kind of masks issued in a prison.
I only put it on inside of stores or at the post office
if I have to go in.

where's the filter canister?

Likely incinerated after the last owner was caught in a chem attack.

I hope this mask was c-h-e-a-p!   :shake:

JK.  In case you were being serious, the filters in those masks are lung-shaped and are inserted into pockets inside the mask.  Two filters vs. the one or two canisters.  Makes it much easier to do your job without a bigass canister or two hanging off your face.

I know but according to Michael Osterholm (expert in infectious disease epidemiology infectious disease epidemiology) the mask is more to prevent the wearer from spreading it if infected.  Even those N95 masks effectiveness is dubious according to a Nurse I spoke to if it's not fitted to your face properly.

I'm guessing that's the point of everyone wearing a mask even if it's not N95 compliant, to try and minimize people infecting one another.  Another thing she mentioned is not to wear the same N95 mask every day, do what you can to cycle them so you only use them once every let's say 5 days.
