Koa Wood 1911 grips

I paid for these to be made at Pele Signatures a year ago before I left for the mainland, but only now picked them up. These grips are gorgeous. I can't wait to mount them on my 1911. This picture doesn't really do the grips justice. I honestly don't know what grips like this would be worth, but I'm satisfied at $100. You can find Pele Signatures at the Outrigger Waikiki (entrance to the right of parking garage, go up inclined ramp, turn right at top--opposite of Seattle's Best).

Cool grips, for sure. Touch of Hawaii class as well.

Those grips look awesome! did they already know how to make them or did you have to give them a set to copy?

I had to give them some sample grips. I also thought about checkering, but decided my frontstrap and backstrap checkering would suffice and I'm glad I did. This wood has sort of a 3D effect when I move it against the light. The holes were aligned well, but weren't big enough so I'll have to drill them out a little bigger before mounting them.

Also, I don't think my 1911 is worthy of these grips anymore.. These belong on a nice blued GI-style M1911A1.
