Just a quick note, the system may not allow you to cancel and make it available today.  I found that in the past, when I tried to cancel the same day it never showed back up.  Unlike if I canceled the night before.  Maybe someone snatched it up, but same day, it was only if I met them at the station and told them I was giving them my appointment.  Just a heads up, in case you try to cancel and it doesn't show back up on the site for the new person.

I followed what someone else said on the board for pretty much a guaranteed transaction. Forward your email notice with the time to your friend/other party for the appointment time.  They cancel on their phone/computer and instantly refresh on another phone/computer on their side and with autofill, transaction done within 5 seconds.  I gave a buddy my time as he scheduled off HPD hours and he got it instantly.  No headaches and it the one wanting the appointment is in total control.
