Nobody in this state has a concealed carry license unless you are of the elite protected class,  BTW not to be so protected soon, We told you so..... (ie LE)..... 


Just my humble opinion, Vote other than democrat if you want your rights to self defense restored in Hawaii.

I've tried carrying the Glock 17 at the 3 oclock and it sucks cause it's too big.  Might be possible with appendix carry if you're a tall guy.

Glock 43x or 48 would be ideal.

I've carried my 17 when/where legal.  No problems.  Try different holsters.  They can make a big difference.

Actually, this is true. A big factor is your body shape though.
With the proper holster and a well thought out choice of clothing you can effectively CC a G17.
If you MUST carry a full size gun, I recommend a pancake, strong side, behind hip.
Clothing must be appropriate for the weather though. Here in warm Hawaii, that would mean a loose aloha shirt, light windbreaker or a photographers vest.
The draw stroke takes some practice.

I've tried IWB behind hip and it was irritating to my soft sensitive skin. LOL.
Shoulder rig is pretty good for a full size gun. This is the most comfortable method.
If you  have a compact or sub-compact, a fanny pack is the cat's meow, but you need to be very conscious of where that bag is all the time.

EDC involves carrying in a lot of different situations, you'll also have to consider comfort when sitting down for long periods of time like for work or at a class.  The biggest test is driving a car for a couple hours.  Wearing a loose aloha shirt may be okay at times, but that may rule out just wearing a t-shirt or a tucked in dress shirt or exercise clothes.

G26 with mag pinky extensions is G43 size but wider...Only has 10 rounds anyways. More than that banned. But nobody here does anything illegal

I've been shooting G19 with RDS the majority of my pistol shooting since around Nov 2019.   Still have way more rounds with my G17s, but the G19s (RDS and irons) are quickly catching up. 

After the first month or so of CV19, I lost prob about 10 lbs.  Have put back most of that over the last few weeks though.

I AIWB carried a Glock 34 a couple years ago for fun when I went up to Vegas for the holidays. I usually carry a 19 but I brought a few other of my guns up to shoot in the desert with my cousins.

It actually wasn't that bad carrying appendix. I didn't wear very thick clothing either. Just khakis and long sleeve cotton shirt. Going back to the 19 was a breath of fresh air though. It really is the Goldilock
size firearm.

Here is my edc. P320F (G17 size). w/OLight Valkyrie PL-2 Pro, IWB Lvl2 thumbreak retention strap, Kydex holster I made myself. In addition to what has already been stated, like gun size, body type, and holster...I'd like to add,
EDC 'ing a force multiplier like a gun requires a change of mindset. One has to be willing to take the responsibility of the ramifications of getting into a self defense situation.  Verbal Judo must be strong and egos need to be let go. Also, one has to make adjustments on what clothes to wear. for example, in hawaii we cant be wearing large sweaters or jackets. but wearing a slightly larger polo/T-shirt/Aloha shirt isn't so obvious. But on the Mainland, its easier to get away with that. Wearing a proper belt makes a big difference. it should be a solid belt that will be able to handle your edc load.
