Your number one Option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

Not really.  Ever notice the Peter, Chris, and Stewie figures on my desk?  It's been an inside joke among the men folk in the office for awhile.

Nice try though...

The biggest problem I have with home carry is that I'm in and out of the house everyday. There has been times when I make it to my car and as I put on my seatbelt I'm like shit forgot to put the pistol back in the safe.

finally convinced Mrs. Barrels to lock the door when I'm not home. I'm home carrying right now and she doesn't know. Shhhhh....

My next gun purchase is going to be an M&P9C, for which I will purchase a Crossbreed holster and commence home carrying.  My girlfriend wouldn't really mind now, except she thinks my big Beretta in the shoulder holster I've got for it is a little over the top and she makes fun of me.   :(  I figure if it's IWB and not right in her face, she won't have much to complain about.   :D

I don't understand why you wouldn't home carry?  Is why we have arms to defend ourselves. Yes the suck part is securing when going out, relying on a little safe by the door or something or going through the motions to the real safe etc.   Actually the real suck part is having to take it off to go outside to begin with.

IWBs are cool and all but for general home use I find a paddle holster the most convenient.  Easy on/off for both firearm and mags.

I understand that you are allowed to carry your firearm inside your home, but are you allowed to carry your firearm outside your home but still on your property concealed?  Ex......outside working in your yard or something to that extent.

Yup, you can do that. Just don't let it show, or you may get some calls.

Remember to get the one without the magazine safety, or disable it.
