I am new to Kaua'i and need some help finding a gunsmith.  I have a very old Remmington .22 bolt action.  The extractor is not working.  It removes the round from the chamber but does not eject it.  Also, the front sight has been knocked off.  It is held on with two screws and I need to have it put back on.  Thanks in advance for responding to this post.

Maybe if you could post the model number, we could try to help. With some internet research, you could probably find the right parts and do it yourself.

Thanks for getting back to me.  I have the front sight but need a gunsmith to remove the broken off screws and then re-attach it.  The ejector problem is a pain but does not stop the use of the rifle like the sight does.  So, I guess, my real need right now is a gunsmith.  Thanks again and I look forward to finding someone.

Finding a gunsmith is like finding a gun range on Kauai. Good luck my friend

Another option would be to bring it to Oahu next time you come.

There's more than a few qualified gunsmiths here.
