So is the range closed now? Nothing on City website but Mayor announced new order. I didn't hear the specifics of what parks are closed.

The last order posted on the C&C website is Aug 21.

Was there an updated one announced today?

I found it.

Oahu will be put under another stay-at-home, work-at-home order starting 12:01 a.m. Thursday for two weeks,
Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell announced today.

So, even if the range is open, you can't go.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Man these fuckers keep pointing to the “increase” in positive cases like they don’t know it’s because of increased testing and contact tracing. I’m getting really sick of this.

I got a fever, and the only prescription is...

MORE LOCKDOWN!

I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.

I think it is the percentage of the tests that come back positive that they are looking at, besides the # of positive tests

Oh well at least traffic will be even lighter :-)

I keep thinking, what the fuck is 2 weeks gonna do?  Besides breaking the back of businesses, ruining an already ruined economy, and risking civil unrest?

So after 2 weeks what are their fuckin plans?  Open up for a month or so and then close down again?

Look what happened to Sweden.  They never imposed a lockdown.  Life went on as usual.  Yes, they took a beating and people died.  The government entrusted that the people will do the right thing and maintain social distancing, hygiene, etc, etc.  For the most part the people complied, but people still died.

It's sad and horrible but YOU DON'T HEAR MUCH ABOUT SWEDEN ANYMORE.  Why is this?  Maybe they flattened the curve.  Maybe they got it controlled somewhat.  I don't know.

If this 2 week bullshit stay at home order doesn't work and 2 months down the line we have to do a lockdown again maybe it's time to just allow that old saying:  Life must go on.

Maybe it's time to begin life as usual.  Once people realize the destiny and safety of everyone is in each individuals hands and actions, we can weather this fuckin shit ass virus while trying to save what's left of the economy and allow businesses and people to get back to work.

I really don't think this 2 week crap is going to do anything.  Except prolong the agony.

What was laughable was when "they" mentioned anyone caught not abiding by the lockdown mandates will serve jail time.  Oh, I see.  That's why they are releasing criminals.  To make room for us.  What a bunch of jokers. :wtf:

I'm in the at-risk group.  I'm old and retired so I don't have to worry about mortgage, paying bills, wondering where the next paycheck will come from.  Open up already.  I can die from the virus or get hit by a bus.  We cannot live afraid and constantly ask "what if?" all the time.

Open up.  And let the young people live their lives.  We all only live once.

Ok.  Rant over. :grrr:
Sometimes you gotta know when to save your bullets.

We have people who still have paychecks making decisions over people who don't. Caldwell makes $500k a year including his part time job. https://www.civilbeat.org/2016/07/honolulu-mayors-six-figure-compensation-from-bank-draws-fire/
https://www.civilbeat.org/2020/02/caldwell-took-in-155000-from-territorial-bank-in-2019/

Can these people relate to hard times? No. They see us as the "masses" and they are the elite. Their exceptions such as the City Hall potluck and the Hawaii DNC's check-in at the beach show how they are above us subjects.

I think it’s pretty reasonable to assume that as you test more the percentage of positive cases would go up as well as number of actual positive cases.

I think that's their strategy - test more - more positive cases = longer lockdowns. Transform HI into a welfare State

I was planning to go today but figure it must be crazy, regardless if they close tomorrow or not. Of course, the Parks are not gonna bother to update the fcking website.
