You motivate people better by positive incentives versus negative.

If every event is in response to a new bill or overreach by the Gov't/HPD, that's by definition using a negative to push people to action.  "You better show up, or else something bad will happen."  Or, has happened, and needs to be reversed.

If the individuals and groups had a positive incentive to join a 2A-protection group, you'd see more people joining and attending events.

For example, if membership included perks (gun shop discounts, monthly sales for members only, maybe even a handgun giveaway -- without it being a "raffle", of course  ), you'd definitely see more people joining,  Once the people are part of the group, you have a chance to inform them on what's happening and how to participate.  If they see no real benefit to joining "yet another gun group", then nothing changes.

A carrot, not a stick.

Just my 2.9 cents.   :geekdanc:

We're working on getting to be more proactive and positive.  It's difficult at the beginning and you have to focus on the negative at first to get people out.  Don't let a good tragedy go to waste.

For other clubs, membership perks work.  However HIFICO is different and has a more serious attitude. We look back in history at the founding where people lost their limbs and their lives, lost all their property, and spent years away from their families in the fight for independence and rights.  I don't think anyone can truly appreciate that sacrifice nor relate to that nowadays.  A lot of people don't want to spend a few hours a year working on gun rights.  Part of HIFICO's mission is to promote those attitudes and values.

lost all their property,

My father's 3 handguns were confiscated because when he moved back home from Texas 10 years ago he just had open heart surgery and he didn't know the laws so they remained unregistered until I moved back home from Australia a couple years ago and there was a family dispute with my sister who's a raging bull Karen and I got my Colt 1911A1 back from my dad and she saw me with it and called the police thinking i stole it.  The police came and confiscated it and gave me a police report but was never indicted and the statute of limitations expired this January 2020 and I'd like help or a referral to a lawyer or someone who can get it back for me.

This is messed up!  It should be just a fine. Pay it and you should be able to get it back. Do you have all the right documents? Hunters Ed, permit to acquire, etc...?  If you don’t then I doubt they will give it back. But if you do? Then seek legal help?  Good luck!

If the statute of limitations expired before any charges were filed, then there should be no problem getting the property returned.

Try to work with HPD first to apply for a permit and have the property returned when it's issued.  If they say they need a court order, filing a motion based on the time limit expiring should be child's play.

Great advice!  I don't know why people here troll you, brah.  You've been nothing but helpful and knowledgeable to my posts.

I asked HIFICO for help and was denied when my rights were clearly violated.

Big ups, brah.  Mahalo!

We don’t troll him.
He brings it on himself.
With his misdirection, childish insults, inability to answer a direct question during a discussion and superiority complex.
He’s super good at google though and actually, quite often, helpful in many circumstances. I tip my hat to that.
Just don’t disagree with him or have an opinion other than his.
Oh, and he’s also easily triggered so it’s kind of good fun.

P.S.
You are aware he’s had 4 user names since joining this forum.
Moosed
Mauidog
DarmokatJalad

Who needs to change their forum identity 4 times ? (Here we go...)

(I wouldn’t have said anything if you didn’t make that trolling comment Phazuka. Thought I should respond.)

Thanks!

Part of the trolling is just mob mentality.  Some pile on when one person starts in.  I guess they have nothing better to do.

Doesn't bother me much.  They are just trying to get a reaction from me to make them feel better about themselves.  Typical troll behavior.   :geekdanc:   :shaka:

All aboard the train to troll town.
I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.
