sadly so

Where are the police, when you need them?

QUIETShooter

Kyle Rittenhouse did not belong to any of the organized militias in Kenosha.  If he wanted to help he should have contacted the militia leaders and ask in what capacity and what area he can help with.

But it seems he acted on his own.

His actions will only put a negative light on firearms owners and militias in general.
Sometimes you gotta know when to save your bullets.

It's still too soon to know if that's the truth -- and the whole story -- or not.

I thought all cops are bad?
now you want their help?

Your ancestors thought the same way, and that is why you do not have a Kingdom any more.

No they did not.

Get your Hawaiian Kingdom history right.  It was the American White descended Hawaiian nationals in government, who made sure, the aboriginal Kanaka Maoli not have any firearms, so they could not prevent the treasonous overthrow, of our last Queen.

This Hawaiian poster and many other Kanaka Maoli have learned what those White people did and will not allow foreigners to disarm us, again.      :shaka:

Racists?

You mean those American Republicans, after the illegal annexation of Hawaii in 1898, who discriminated against everybody, who was not White?

eyeeatingfish

I've seen the vids and each time it was self defense.

One caveat there though is that the video doesn't show what started the altercation. If he did something unlawful that started the altercation then he would not be justified in the shooting. I haven't heard anything that suggests he did anything wrong though. As long as there are no other negative circumstances then I too would agree it was a self defense shooting.

Racists?

You mean those American Republicans, after the illegal annexation of Hawaii in 1898, who discriminated against everybody, who was not White?

So, their behavior justifies YOUR racism against all Whites everywhere who had nothing to do with your grievances?

Pathetic.

Either they were citizens or they were not. The point is they met zero resistance, which was later interpreted as permission.

So easy even a 17yo kid can understand.

I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.

Your rationale is so ill-informed; you are right in that only 17 year old kids could be duped with such propaganda.

Please read what was America's response to the overthrow of Queen Liliuokalani, in 1893.  You will be amazed what the GREAT US PRESIDENT GROVER CLEVELAND thought about the American White Insurgents' coup and their request to be annexed by the US, immediately thereafter.   :shaka:

If the other cheek, of the same buttock, did not push the Republicans out of power, there would have been a probability that Hawaii would have still been a White's dominated island, for many years more.

Do you think such racism disappears over time?

So what?  Blake admitted that he had a knife to the cops.

If so, why did the officer, not observe the infamous 21ft rule, when confronting someone armed with a knife?   Video, of the shooting, clearly shows that officer walked right behind Blake, to this car.  Did he forget his training or did he have the intent, to unload his service pistol, into Blake, at point blank range?

Where did you get that understanding about the events of the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom?  I forget which book it was I read this in, but the US Marines came ashore at the request of a group of Hawaii businessmen who were upset with the Hawaiian Kingdom's rule.  Leading this group was Lorrin Thurston.  The marines came ashore in the early morning hours and quickly subdued the Queens guard who were still in their barracks.  They marines secured the palace grounds and the queen in one of her rooms.  As the day went on, word quickly spread of the events and a very large group of Kanaka Maoli began to gather around the palace grounds.  According to Native Hawaiian accounts, the group was so large, they encircled all four sides and outnumbered the marines by several times.  There were accounts of armed individuals in the crowd  This group did not leave until night fall as there are accounts of people carrying torches.  The accounts given about there being very little to not resistance come from the Pacific Courier Advertiser which was owned and operated by Thurston.  These accounts would not reach the US Mainland for some time after the events of the overthrow and would shape public opinion of the events as they had transpired.

The siege ended only after Queen Liliuokalani was compelled by a marine officer to tell the people to go home.  She did so because she did not want to see further bloodshed and believed that the US Government would find the invasion illegal and return the kingdom to here as the British had done prior.  These reasons were laid out in a collection of her personal writings and letters during her incarceration.

The 1993 Apology Resolution by the U.S. Congress concedes that "the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii occurred with the active participation of agents and citizens of the United States and [...] the Native Hawaiian people never directly relinquished to the United States their claims to their inherent sovereignty as a people over their national lands, either through the Kingdom of Hawaii or through a plebiscite or referendum"
No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

Is this thread about the overthrow again (Really should have a dedicated thread for that and bar it from every other thread, JMO) ......or the Blake shooting......or the shooting by Kyle Rittenhouse.......

You can blame the usual anti-Hawaiians and the permatroll for that.

the 21 foot "rule" is not used in many jurisdictions
