Big Braddah

Everyone coming into the state of Hawaii is now forced to download an app that is tied to all their personal information. Looks like it is time to ditch the smart phone.

I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.

I have a cheap smart phone, on a recent trip to Honolulu my phone would lock up and said "no SIM".
Pissed the airport people off but they waved me in anyway.  No big Braddah possible.
As it turns out there was an AT&T outage on the days I was in Honolulu.
Soon as I got back to my island,  the phone worked as well as it always does,  barely.
We have so few cell towers I doubt they could track me very well. They certainly can't tell
if I'm in my house, cell doesn't work inside the house unless it is a cloudy day.
It is a real pain to travel without a smart phone these days, so I don't Travel
unless I absolutely have to.

Works for me.  My daughter had one of those.  Cost us a lot of money we really didn't have then,
but my daughter was spoiled beyond belief.
It worked better than my present cell phone.

Go to Walmart and pick up a prepaid cell phone (aka "a burner phone").

Buy one that doesn't have smartphone capability (no apps can be loaded).

When asked to produce your phone at the airport, show them that one.  Place your regular cell in your checked bag.

If you need to make a call while enroute, use the burner.

If the authorities find the packed phone, say "I was wondering where that thing went!"

I don't have a data plan on my phone so good luck forcing me to download it before I leave. Plus not sure how much good it would doo if I keep my GPS turned off and then delete it anyway right after I leave the airport.

All of this wonderful technology was supposed to bring humanity and the world together.

Now I think it just festers hate, shaming, and fosters a way to "keep track of" and "control" the masses.

Scary future.  I'm comforted knowing I'll be dead and gone before freedoms and privacy is no longer a reality.

This very technology originated with good intentions is being used by some to divide and conquer.

Never used one, and actually not sure how to even make a call on the one my wife has.  All those cute little colored things.......

Rarely use it, but love my compact little LG flip with easy to see buttons.

I have several old "not smart" cell phones.

I wouldn't even need to have service established.  Just have it turned on and say it's my only phone.

Would love to see an airport worker's face when I take out my Motorola StarTAC or RAZR flip phone.
