My wife, Who a Japanese, has finally admitted she’s had it with Hawaii. We were looking at relocating to Roseville, Ca because my oldest daughter lives there but taxes and socialism has scratched that of our list. We are looking at St. George, Utah. It’s about 8 hours to her home so not too bad. I’ve had it with this so called “paradise” and need to go where I’m free. We’ve been in the area of St. George about 3 years ago and liked what we saw. Being 70 and the missus being 69 our lives are growing short and we need to enjoy ourselves. We were also looking at Genoa, NV but the weather is too cold (Lake Tahoe area). We’re in the preliminary stage rite now but will hopefully be leaving here in a year.
Although my experience with Roseville is 40 years ago, it has exploded, stay away.
In fact avoid CA completely!
St. George gets cold and is windy.
I'm on the BI. I priced out moving back to the mainland
some years ago. I'm used to 100 inches of cooler rain per year,
from 20+ years living east of Seattle in the mountains.
My return choice was South Western WA state on or just off
the Columbia river. Close to the ocean, world class medical, tax free shopping in Astoria,
good fishing, no income tax, and acreage you can shoot on without dealing with
cops.
Funny that when I added it all up the BI and WA costs they were a wash
price wise. I even factored in the cost of dumping trash.
I decided to stay on the BI, I just didn't want to move again.
I have a few more toys than most people. I'd need two containers.
Guns laws suck here, but maybe take a look at the outer islands.
There aren't enough cops to enforce them all.
Across the gulch from me they can and do shoot all day long.
Cops won't go there.
Take a look at BI or Molokai.
Most people don't know that Deserts get COLD!
Good luck!
Hate to see you go.
