That's just one man's opinion.

We didn't have these "gun abuse" issues decades ago.  Suddenly, in this new century, guns have become a major fear.  it's not that guns have changed.  Society has changed.

The reason we call  the Bill of Rights "fundamental" is because those rights do not change.  Their purpose remains even if there are individuals who would abuse those rights to do harm.

If we are going to change anything in the Bill of Rights, let's start with the most dangerous right of all -- the 1st Amendment.  Ideas are undeniably more dangerous than firearms in the wrong hands.  Yet, we allow a Liberal mainstream media to propagate misinformation, anti-Conservative, pro-Liberal, pro-Socialist ideas under the protections provided to a "free press".  The media believes they are the President-makers.  And it's hard to argue otherwise.  Trump would not have won the primary, and as a result the general election, if the media had not propped him up early on.  They WANTED him to win the nomination so Hillary would have the best chance of beating her challenger.  They will never get over that "mistake".   

Anyway, this guy says we need to lobby for solutions.  People like Bloomberg are not interested in solutions. They are pushing an agenda.  They really don't understand the problem well enough to know a solution when they see it. So, this guy saying we need to be open to change only makes sense if the changes actually SOLVE a REAL PROBLEM -- one that can be quantified and measured, so we can tell if the solution is making a change or not.

Agree however as far as I’m concerned there can be no changes to the bill of rights or any of the amendments. If there’s going to be dialog and solutions that come as a result must be within the framework of the constitution and, in our case, the 2nd amendment. While I’ve been an outspoken critic of the NRA and some of its practices it does not help our cause for someone to be airing the organizations dirty laundry. Sure the NRA needs to be fixed and quick but it’s all we have to help us make a stand against those who would deny us our rights and confiscate our firearms. I for one will stand up and use deadly force against anyone, government or otherwise, that tries. That, I feel, is what our fore fathers wanted us to do to preserve our nation against an oppressive government and tyranny. In his case, it’s still sour grapes....

Unfortunately, when the head of the NRA is spending millions to build a mansion for himself, you might have to use public pressure to exert sufficient pressure to cause those changes.

Anyone that blatant about using organizational funds to live a wealthy lifestyle ABOVE AND BEYOND his already massive compensation package is probably not going to listen to anyone calling for "change".

Good point...... wonder what could be done to effect change and oust the upper crust in the organization in order to save the NRA from itself. Maybe it will take the membership to say enough is enough...

$800k per year makes him sound like a professional parasite, in which case he might be looking at the billions that George Soros is pumping into the other side. My guess he wants a piece of that as well as offering his services to NY prosecutors in exchange for immunity.
