What bothers me is people who blame the judge for a decision they don't agree with for whatever bias or rationale.

Judges are supposed to be umpires, calling balls and strikes.  They decide the outcome based on the facts presented by both sides of a case and the law.

If a case goes against what another lawyer (first video in thread) thinks should have been the decision, and doesn't offer a legal analysis of why the judge was wrong, it's simply the opinion of an individual who may have biases against that judge.

I WANT a judge who listens to both sides and decides the case on the FACTS presented, not on the high altitude stats or decisions.

If she ruled in favor of the gov't most of the time, maybe it's because the law or the lawyers' presentations were more in favor of the gov't?  It's not the judge's place to keep score, deciding a case against the gov't out of some sense of "balance".

Be careful when someone characterizes a case for you and doesn't tell you WHY her decision was wrong.  She sat on an appellate court.  That means a lower court already decided the case, and the losing party appealed the decision.  If she decided the lower court was correct, which happens to be in favor of the gov't, that sort of validates the decision since TWO courts came to the same conclusion given the facts in evidence and arguments on record.

If I ever go to court for a crime, I want the judge to be openminded and focused on weighing the case on its merits and not according to their political or moral leanings.  If I lose, it's because my case was weaker than the other's -- which could very well be because I was in violation of the law.

Don't know much about her except that she's catholic and has 7 children?  But I have been reading all I can about her past experiences and judgements and where she stands on all the subjects that are important to us.

And as far as I'm concerned I would be satisfied if she is confirmed to SCOTUS.

In Trump's nomination video, she talks about herself.  A former student of Scalia.

Two of her 7 kids are adopted children from Haiti.
One of her biological child has down syndrome

She appears to be constitutionalist.

While I’m happy with her nomination, her voice was so annoying it was all I could do to watch her acceptance speech. Think “The Nanny”.

If the Dems on the Senate Judiciary Committee feel the same way, maybe they'll stop asking questions rather than suffer through her answers!    :geekdanc:

This!  A judge should rule according to the law.

We do not need an activist who rules according to what he/she/it thinks should be enforced.  Kind of like jacquie Esser who ran for prosecutor to "reimagine justice."  :wtf:

Tonight during Tucker Carlson's opening segment re Barret and the Democrats attempts to discredit her led into part of a CNN interview with Hirono by saying "probably the slowest person ever to serve in the U.S. Senate".  :worship:

Quite a dark reflection on the voters of Hawaii... and especially well-deserved considering the other Hawaii senator is running a very close second in slowness.

I bet omnigun won't even bother to watch this video.

Examples were provided of predictions that a Supreme Court nominee's unsubstantiated biases would interfere with their impartiality in certain high profile social issues possibly before them one day, and they were  proven 100% wrong.

To claim that a judge on the highest court in the United States would violate their oath of office before they've even heard a single case is beyond insulting.

And her cackling laughter rivals Hildabeast's for the most annoying, abrasive and cringe-inducing sound known to man!   :shake:
