It doesnt specify about handguns. I know for long gun permit you can buy as much long guns as you want for a year, but what about handguns? Can i buy multiple handguns with one handgun permit?

no. 1 permit for each handgun as they want a serial number from the handgun you want to purchase

There's a grid on the application where you list the handgun/handguns you are begging permission to register.

One application required, no matter how many firearms are transferred.   Always good to wait to apply after you've finalized all purchases if planning more than one pistol acquisition.

I am pretty positive that the "Firearms Information Form" is only for registering long guns, shot guns and 80.000001%'s+ along with your long gun permit, and not for permit applications. The application to apply for a permit to acquire is only available at the HPD application window. To apply for a permit to acquire, you need one of each of the other three forms from the website and another form if you are with Kaiser or Straub. You need one application form from HPD for a long gun permit (good for one year and unlimited transfers) or one application for each hand gun transfer as ren stated. You can apply for fifty handguns at one time if you want, but you need to fill out fifty application forms.

Are you sure about that?

The line under the header for "Model" says: (Hand/Rifle/Shotgun) Indicate Action

I think the form was created with handgun as the default.  If it's for a long gun, then you check the box at the top for "Rifle/Shotgun Acquisition".

That's how I think it's used.  To be honest, I haven't acquired or registered anything since RAPBACK began.  Still not in that system.  Of course, if you've kept abreast of the discussions, even the people PAYING for RAPBACK are not in the system, either.   :wtf:

What dogman described above was how it was for me when I registered multiple handguns about a year ago, but before COVID.

After they started putting the forms online, I printed them out ahead of time.  But then need the multiple copy forms that you have to fill out by hand. I asked if they would give the forms out, but the person at the window said no.

The "Firearms Information Form" is for registration only and not part of the application for permit to acquire process. The OP was asking about applying for a permit to acquire multiple handguns. The "Firearm Information Form" along with your long gun permit, ID and firearm(s) is what you need for registering long guns. When registering a handgun or multiple, from local FFL or local private party transfer, you need the handgun permit (one handgun permit for each handgun) ID and the firearm(s).

As I said, I've been away from HPD for years.  Last time I applied for multiple handgun permits, it was all on one permit application.  The nomenclature info was all one one form.  Since they only have to run one background check and not "fifty", that made sense.

If the new process requires fifty applications being completed, that should be challenged -- if on no other grounds than a waste of paperwork and filling space.  Seems like a huge waste of tax payer dollars to require one application per handgun.

I think we all agree how ridiculous it is to fill out the exact same thing on multiple forms for multiple handgun transfers. The only part that is filled out different on each form is the part HPD fills in.

We all know why there is so much redundant paperwork and bullshit.  "They" (HPD and govt.) are using stalling, frustration, and bureaucratic red tape to discourage gun ownership.

We must not let them win.  Right now they have the hammer as far as rules.  We must prevail until a sensible leader rises up to challenge and change these bullshit tactics.
