Getting back to the original thread question, I know I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for whatever happens after the aftermath of the election.

All the past events leading up to the present has really stressed me out at times.  All the violence, destruction of private properties, the severe divisiveness of our country in all aspects regarding race, politics, morals, religion, has me going batshit.  Even the virus and how it should be handled has divided people.

Something tells me it will be a while before things start to calm down.  No matter who wins.

Civil unrest will be a big concern.  I would be more concerned if I were living in some parts of the mainland.  But Ige, Caldwell, and his puppet Ballard better watch out.  Once nomo food on the table, nomo job to go to, nomo money to pay mortgage and bills, the usually passive Hawaii people will turn into a mob.

Yeah, all these years my friends and family wondered why I would own guns to protect my family and home.  I bet they understand now when I told them the cops can't be everywhere......

One of my in-laws who always criticized me owning guns told me the other day that he wants to buy a gun now.  I looked at him, scoffed and said "Good Luck...."

Never liked him.....

i have a friend who is always asking me what i think is going to happen next, and what will the govt response be
and i give him the same answer every time, "it doesn't matter, just expect stupidity..."
and he finally asked me why i don't consider these things and asked me what i think about
my reply was, "i spend my time mentally and emotionally preparing myself for the possibility that i may have to shoot somebody..."

Yeah.  It seems that the days are weeks and the weeks are months leading up to the election.  So much media info bombarding the airwaves.

Seems like time stands still.  Hurry up already gunfunnit.  This is maddening.

Mindset is something that I really got interested in when I started getting serious in firearms training.  There was a thread way back on priorities and I included medical, fitness, and mindset.  Mindset is a tough one as well.  I have done a lot of reading, including books about TEOWAWKI events and stuff (fiction) that gives at least the author's viewpoint of mindset in those types of events.  I have friends and those I have met through firearms training that have BTDT, but I don't push the topic except mentioning that I'm interested in discussions on mindset.

I like to look at this in a more optimistic viewpoint.  I don't think much will happen either way.  No civil war or bunch of fighting and deaths.  If I am wrong, already ready to survive most situations.

I don't agree with the politics of General Matis but this advice is sound
"Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet."
This was in the context of the Iraq war and I'm not a Marine, but I was
trained in youth and as a USAF NonCom to do what ever is necessary.
I'd shoot someone in a second, if they were a threat to me, my family,
my country,  or some innocent being victimized.
Actually like hunting, the easy part is the killing, the hard part is cleaning
up the mess left over.

Yes the old Cold war is very attenuated.
I'm referring more to the on-going civil war
we are presently are engaged in. Appomattox
may have ended the Kinetic war, but the
Democrats never surrendered. They are still at
it.
That Seattle water was bad for you.
I lived on well water in North Bend.

I was mostly teasing you.  I get what you were getting at though.  Was teasing about your "I was trained" things.  Reminds me of the situation where there were Japanese soldiers that emerged from caves and jungle years, even decades, after the war was over, not fully aware of the state of things.

I lived in Seattle (King County) and then Snohomish County.  In general, I drank filtered water as the taste was horrible coming from Hawaii's water.

Interesting article.  I'm thinking the far left radicals will riot and reek violence even if Biden wins.  They have been emboldened when they see their "protests" go unchallenged even when private properties have been destroyed, federal bldgs. and police precincts attacked, and citizens hurt or killed.

They're just using Biden/Harris as a stepping stone to their greater agenda.

If Trump wins I hope he puts quelling the violence from these far left radicals high on his priority list.

Restore Law and Order.  The Democrats believe the recent violence needs "understanding", because it's the path to "healing....."

Fuck that shit.

Also consider classes.  I'd have to look up the article/source, but it's about the purpose/role of middle class and how the "haves" utilize it as a buffer for the "have nots".  Take a look a who, in general, are doing the "rioting and reeking of violence" and who and/or what agenda that serves.

First of all, who are the far left radicals, who are their leaders, and what is their endgame?

Borrowing from some elements of drck1000, I would offer that the riots and violence in America are based, on real issues.  However, the poor and jobless, even before Covid-19, were being manipulated/fed communist ideas, in order to fight a war, against the remaining middle class.

Consider the following:

1.  America's economy was in slow decline, since its lost its manufacturing base.

2.  Covid-19 only exacerbated the weaknesses of America's economy, accelerating America's eventual economic collapse.

3.  Fearing nationwide reprisals, upon the final fall of America's economy, the ultrawealthy (e.g. Soros, Rockefellers, etc.) ensures the remnants, of the US population, fight each other and forget about them completely, as being ultimately responsible, for the economic collapse, of their nation.

4.  The ultrawealthy also begin a plan to militarily and economically goad other nations, such as China and Russia, to go to war, through their paid government stooges, in the White House and Congress; in order to further divert attention away, from themselves, as well as get rid of as many poor and middle class Americans, as possible, through a potential WWIII.

5.  Whether America comes out the victor or vanquished, it does not matter, since they already have all the money, gold, generators, bunkers, guns, survival food and water, etc.  In either circumstance, they can rebuild their fiefdoms, but have a smaller population, of starving and desperate American serfs, that will do their bidding.
