Rick Blangiardi

What do you guys think of Rick Blangiardi?
The guy reminds me of Andrew Cuomo. According to Young Guns he's likely anti-gun, he's pro lock down.

He talks about "business" but what "business" does he speak of?
My guess is Labor Unions? That's considered a business...right?

Anyone who attracts big money donors who funnel millions into PACs makes me suspicious.

As for unions, it boggles my mind that the SAME PERSON (mayor or governor) who gets tons of cash and a glowing endorsement for election then has the duty to negotiate "in good faith" on behalf of the city, county and/or state with THAT SAME UNION for government contracts and compensation.

How the HELL is this not a conflict of interest?

UNION LEADERS:  "We endorse Blangiardi for Mayor of Honolulu.  In addition, we are donating $1.9M for his election campaign, mostly to PACs to avoid campaign contribution limits."

MAYOR BLANGIARDI:  "Thank you for your support, XXX UNION LEADERS AND MEMBERSHIP.  Next week, we will sit down together and hopefully agree on a new and long overdue contract between the people of Honolulu and your Union.  I'm sure we'll be able to come to terms that are satisfactory to both sides, even if I have to furlough workers in other areas to pay for your new wages and benefits.  Those people paying for your contract should have donated more to my campaign.  I guess they'll know better when I'm up for reelection!"

Just like Joe Biden, most of these guys and gals running as Dems think adjectives and adverbs are more important than details.  Facts make voters' eyes glaze over like a cream filled Krispy Kreme.  But, lots of emotion-evoking words make you feel good about what is being said.

In their campaigns, and even into office, Dems believe in Symbolism over Substance, as Limbaugh would say.  I find it to be a rule with few exceptions.

Look at how many failures have been excused with the apologetic "but, I was just trying to make things better."  Intentions vs. results.  Another tale-tell sign of Dems.

If Rick had mentioned any aspects of his PLANS to accomplish said goals, maybe I'd be more incline to listen.
