A Question to ASK the police at the next legislative hearing about the issuing of CCW in Hawaii.

WHERE WERE THE POLICE when the shooting started.?

According to the news, it took the police 90 seconds to respond.

One and a half minutes.  In that time 12 people were killed and 70 injured. 

A total of 92 people in 90 seconds.

Local law enforecement says call 911 and we'll be there.

I asked that Question in a state hearing a long time ago.  Lots of red faces in blue uniforms.

If looks could kill, I'd be long gone.

The worst would be the anti gun crowd pushing this onto Obama for the ATT treaty.
The most likely scenario if ever come to pass would have a restriction to online sales which  the shooter got most of his stuff from, also the VA tect  shooter did the same thing as far as acquiring his means of destruction

anniversary of Norway killings is coming up as well. great timing for the gun control crowd, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a major push soon. already I'm hearing lots of conversations from the liberal circles about how something NEEDS to happen. if something happens at the olympics we might not be so fortunate this time.

I heard on the radio some congressman wants to ban hicap mags. That would not have stopped this nut job. He calculated everything. There was a report on the news he wanted fame out of this. This even irks me more when I think about going in public places and I could not defend me or my friends/family against a similar threat. Taking away guns isn't the answer. We need a better way of id'ing these nut jobs.

Sounds like this kid cracked relatively recently. Just like most things with law enforcement, it is difficult to address the law breaker until after the crime has already been committed.

While we do need better ways to keep this kind of thing from happening the path towards that goal is lined with other civil rights minefields. Serious ones.

I think the main point in this case is that while CO is a very CCW and firearm friendly state the theater was a gun free zone per corporate policy. Body armor or no, just 1 armed and brave citizen might have stopped the shooter from doing as much damage as he did. And that is the ONLY thing that could have made this situation turn out differently.

A MASSIVE show of Pro 2A people at the next state gun ban hearings would be nice.

How Many people will show up?

The last time HRA held a demonstration YEARS ago, about 300 people showed up.

Better to be Pro Active than RE active.

Better to hold a Pro Demo Before they hold a Anti Demo to which we will have to respond, if at all.

Considering  the number of  New gun owners, I'b be interested to see how many will show up during lunch time on a work day.

The fact that this guy was making bombs shows the capacity to kill regardless of guns, in fact, if he had used a bomb placed centrally in the theater there would have more than likely been more fatalities. This guy is crazy and would have caused devastation with or without the guns, if he was capable of creating bombs in his home.

One of the best arguments to be made toward people that use this incident as a reason for gun control is, If you were in that situation, would you rather be able to defend yourself or just wait to be shot? The argument could be made that one trained CCW holder could have reduced the damage that this nut job was able to inflict. The fact that he surrendered shows that he didnt want to die, so it would be reasonable to assume that if someone started shooting back at him, even if they didnt critically wound him, he probably would have gone into defense mode, and not been free to walk around firing at will. Either way, if posed the question "A lunatic with a gun walks into room with you. Would you want something to defend yourself?" Anyone that doesnt want something to defend themselves is either lying or an Obama voter...

So even though CO is a very gun friendly state, very few states have laws on the books that would have made it impossible for him to get the weapons and mags that he had. In short there is no existing gun control scheme (except perhaps in California) that would have stopped this kook from doing what he did.

i saw a "security consultant" on one of the news channels shouting that the 100 rounds mags are a felony to own if you are not LE/mil!
