Yeah it sucks that trumps brash personality pushed so many people away from him. Unfortunately people don’t realize you can’t fight against establishment politics by being a boy scout. My hope is that republicans will run on the platform that trump gave them and run someone with a little more grace and they should smash future elections.
Very true.  Sadly, I think many who would or could run probably think "eff this, totally not worth it".

that's why we got garbage like AOC, and the "squad" and our local leaders....there's better opportunities for talented people outside civil service. What we need are talented people who have nothing to lose, the motivation and stoch for politics i.e. Pres Trump.

My wife asked me if I'd ever consider running for public office.

I told her I wouldn't be able to unless I have my scruples surgically removed.   :geekdanc:

Yeah, like who? You think "polite" Mike Pence will get 56,000 people to show up in the cold in middle of nowhere Pennsylvania? Trump's "personality" may be one of the top attractants to those who are sick and tired of bullshit polit-talk. Mike Pence and his ilk ain't gonna "smash" nothing.

This is a fucking war. Nice guys ain't gonna cut it. When are Republicans ever gonna figure that out? There were what, 15 other "nice" guys "with a little more grace" in the primaries in 2016, and "brash" Trump beat them all handily. You think that's a handicap and not a feature? You gonna try and tiptoe some line that won't "offend" anyone? Good luck finding that line and someone who comes across as real and will walk it.

What's the "nice, graceful" spiel on Democrat and government bureaucracy fraud and corruption and the attempted coup of the presidency? You mean like the graceful "outrage" by many of the Congressional Republicans against the social media obvious bias and shutting down of "conservative" voices? And then they don't do an damned single thing to actually remedy the situation? Yeah, that's real "nice"... that's real "graceful"... and nothing changes. At all. Fuck that shit.

But I'm open to hearing your concrete plan. Name names. Name policies. Name what is and isn't allowed to be said.

Give me three examples of statements from Trump that are unacceptably "brash" to you, and the give us those three transformed into "graceful" versions.

Yeah? Their "smartness" and "ethics" override any duty or responsibility they might have to serve the community and their fellow citizens? Or their "smartness" and "ethics" require them to not seek office? Good to know.

Trump created his brand in part with "The Apprentice."  He quickly became a reality show celebrity with that iconic, "You're FIRED!"

That's what I BELIEVE people expected from him when he first ran, and that's what he gave us.  You can't be a chief executive of anything and be polite or unoffensive.  You have a job to get done, and niceties as a course of normalcy takes too much time and energy.  You save polite for the state dinners and when talking to friends and family who aren't looking to stab you in the back regardless of whether or not you hand out nasty nicknames to the people you don't like.

This election is turning into an episode of that TV show.  Trump was team leader, and he and Biden are now in the board  room.  Trump is being objective (okay, embellishing it here or there) about his performance and that of Biden, but Biden is blaming Trump for everything including Jim Crow laws, Hitler's rise to power and the Lindburgh kidnapping -- anything to push Trump down and save his own worthless hide.  All Joe has is "PANDEMIC!"   and "MEANIE!"

I really hope we hear, "Joe.  You're fired!"

What’s everyone’s opinion about this shit show we have going on?

I found it strange that all the Democrat led states stopped counting and when they resumed all votes were for Biden.

Not the most perfect election but I see no corruption or fraud.  Its just Trump being trump.  He doesn't want to lose.  Theres no cheating.  Its just that he is unpopular because of who he is and how he acts.

The stopped courting thing is because they started to count mail in ballots, which are majority democrat votes because trump spent the last few months attacking mail in voting...

I see no gravity, yet the evidence of it is more than adequate to deduce it exists.

More than enough evidence the counts are being rigged.  if not, why bar Republicans from key processing locations in the remaining states up for grabs?

There are both democrats and republicans in polling centers, along with international monitors.  What they don't want is a bunch of idiots breathing on the necks of the poll workers and threatening them.  (aka the screaming guy outside who says this is all rigged and a conspiracy is not the best person to be inside the poling station)

Trump supports are acting like morons tbh.  Arizona they are outside demanding they count all the ballots while in Pennsylvania they are screaming stop counting...You cant even make this shit up on SNL.

I reluctantly have voted for Republicans for the last 46 years.
And probably will continue to do so. I always vote.

I might say you are more than a little naive about democrats and fraud.  They were first publically exposed in the 1960 election and have been at it ever since.

They are getting more brazen now they know there is little real opposition to them doing it.  The spineless Republican response is why so many of us do not identify with that party now.

No cheating because no one was convicted of cheating.  So doesn't happen.
