go to HPD firearms division and apply?

When i was there to register a gun one time, a haole guy was in front of  me and he requested to apply for his ccw because he ran a security company and was from the mainland.  I still remember that after he requested for the application, the guy behind the window was like  ::) "You know how it works here right?"  and he repeated himself several times.  The guy was like "yes, i have a ccw permit in florida blah blah blah"....obviously he didn't really understand what the guy behind the window was really referring to rofl.

Applying for a ccw in hawaii kinda reminds me of the witch hunts that happened log ago.  During those witch hunts, when they captured a woman whom they thought was a witch, they would do a test to confirm if she was one.  They would bind her legs and arms and throw her in a lake.  If she could survive underwater, then she was a witch and was executed.  If she could not survive under water, then it would prove her innocence.........but then she'd be dead so it really didn't matter anymore.

That same kind of scenario is like applying for a ccw.  You could apply for a ccw because you are seriously fearful someone is a threat to your life.  The chief of police will deny you because you could be exaggerating or whatever.  The only real way to prove if someone is a threat to your life is if that person kills you..........but then you'd be dead so it wouldn't matter anymore.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Chris had a whole packet put together for people applying.  Try a quick forum search!
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

I do believe that the radical and crazy notion that the Founders meant what they said, is gradually soaking through the judicial system.

Well I know retired LEO are applying and receiving their CCW in Hawaii because of the Federal law that passed a couple years ago allowing retired LEO to legally CCW after meeting a few requirements. The justification for these retired LEO to CCW is that over the years they had dealt with and help convict many criminals who now may have been released from prison and may be looking for revenge. So that's the gist of the law for only that small portion of the population that is allowed to protect themselves from random or planned violence.
