Another thing to test is how the light on works.  I've long had the X300 with both ability for momentary on and switch on.  I also somewhat recently got an Inforce one which has a click on or off.  While in the past I had practiced shooting no/low light with the momentary on, I was starting to test shooting with the click on.  I had good results with the momentary, but I needed to tweak my support hand just every so slightly to keep the momentary on.

In the recent session where I got to shoot no light, I practiced more with the off hand having the light.  I shot ok.  Overall, I prefer to have a handheld light over a WML, but my hits were better with the WML.  Something I will have to try to practice more consistently (which is tough here).

mine also has the momentary on by holding the switch, or on by clicking the switch and it stays on.  and I did notice that for momentary on I would have to adjust my hand position just slightly.  would take a lot of repetitions to develop some muscle memory with this or any light.  practice, practice, practice.  unless you are Allen Iverson   :D
yeah, its hard to get a lot of reps in this state.  when I do get out to the farm, I want to do a lot of basic drills to get my foundation and muscle memory of drawing, sighting target, shooting, and then building on that foundation with more progressive drills.  we always stay until after dark so light/laser drills would work well there

Here’s my first two shots from my recent session. This was from about 15 yards. I was pretty happy. Was probably better than my shots from about the same spot during the day. Haha. I just recall I picked up the dot super quick and even with the light (I think 600 lumen), the dot was super clear. I was thinking maybe the low light helped me focus better.

Ya. This is something I don’t get to prestige very often. So when I have an opportunity, I try to do so.

you weren't blinded by the light!?!

Maybe my walls are too light reflexive or I own one too many mirrors.  I am thinking of getting a low powered light.  I do worry about the ID part, but I plan to use my voice to identify if its a friend or foe.  Then again, if someone is breaking into my house there's not much guessing needed.

Or your more sensitive to light than others.

Have you posted signs at your entrances (including windows) prohibiting the use of flashlights?

You need to make sure intruders respect your sensitivity to bright lights in a dark space.

I mean I supposed to have, right?  The target was almost white, so highly "reflexive".

Sorry Stang, back to topic.

I had another thread somewhere with the discussion of no/low light shooting.  I think it was in my thread on fiber optic sights.  Trits can help pick up the sights in lower/lowish light, but is that enough to properly ID?  Once the white light goes off, you'll only see the backlit shape of the sights.  At least that's what I learned when I first shot no/low light.
