Need to start an HDF TOP SHOT and have Daniel Oshima and Chris Baker compete to see who is the best shot and pistol instructor on the island.  It should be sponsored by LIFE! I would pay money to see that event and so would the rest of die hard tactical paper killers out there! These guys are truly awesome, and switched on as warriors/operators.

I'd throw a few bucks to watch too

Range Days are posted for the first half of 2013.

First one up is in February because I will be out of town for most of Jan.

I like competition and love to shoot against good shooters. I know you do too.

On a lighter note, Funtimes has introduced a lot of new people to the wonderful world of shooting over these last couple of years who might never have got involved.

It included Skeet, 3 Gun Western, Action Pistol, Bullseye Pistol, High Power Rifle, Smallbore Silhouette, and Archery. Many clubs participated in hosting the different stages and KGS (Daniel) had organized the event. It was a lot of work and everyone had a lot of fun. The Top Gun competition whithered over the years due to lack of support.

I'd like to know if there is interest in reviving this event. Many shooters don't want to leave leave the "comfort zone" of their favorite styles or equipment.

Wow, 2000!  I was waaaaay too young to own a gun back then...I'd be interested in stuff like that if certain guns were available for rent.  I know a lot of other people can't afford to buy one of each gun just for a yearly competition.

The beauty of the event was that guns and ammo were donated for the event. Every competitor shot the same guns in a round robin fashion. No one was allowed to adjust the sights or optics. Everyone used the same ammo.

The variable of the better equipment was taken away and Shooters relied on the skills that they carried with them up to the firing line anfter the mandated safety brief.

I'm interested.  Got a lot more to learn but interested for sure.

HDF range days don't seem to be a venue for competitive shooting matches. 

I participated once then stopped when I saw who was running it.

I see a HDF Range day is scheduled for this Saturday.  Any preview of what will be covered?  Handgun?  Carbine?  Just trying to get an idea of what's planned.  Even after 4 days of shooting this past weekend, still have an itch to shoot.
