Remember, the "slow" roll-out of the vaccine is all Trump's fault -- never mind that without Trump, we probably would have had no vaccine to distribute in less than 18 months.

12.5M doses of the estimated 20M have been distributed to the states.  Of that, only 3M have been administered.  Again:  all Trump's fault.

Fauci estimated we'd have herd immunity at 50%, then 60%, then 70%, then 80% -- but he's allowed, since this stuff is "new" and all.  But, when Trump reports an estimate of doses to be distributed to the states -- an estimate provided by the manufacturers -- it's just one more mark in his "he fumbled the COVID-19 football" scorecard yet again.

Now we have a doctor tampering with the vaccines -- about 500 doses -- which makes the injection ineffective (CDC says no negative effects were reported or are expected, but no details reported on what the tampering entailed).  Once again, this was all avoidable if Trump hadn't been so incompetent.

Weather, holidays and other "life" factors have been hindering distribution on many regions -- all because of Trump.

I fully expect a President Biden will be blaming Trump still for any and every problem that arises the next 4 years, just like Obama blamed Bush for 8 years.  That is, assuming the Press even bothers to let the public know about any problems (just like Obama's scandal-free presidency).

Or taking credit if he is potus when the vaxx is available for everyone. He will say it is all his doing that the rest of the nation got the vaxx. Fricken wacko and those who believe him.

Did they work in some places? How would you prove that? While we can definitely say they did not help in some areas it is a lot more difficult to prove the opposite. You are making a classic mix up of correlation and causation. Not very scientific.

The regulation alone is only one part of analyzing effectiveness. Enforcement, participation levels, etc are all variables. We could have all the regulations in the world but if we still have idiots going to covid parties we can't simply look at the regulation alone. My question was about countries which managed to bring everything under control very quickly, what worked, and why. What can we learn from them, how can we apply it to help us get back to normal more quickly.

Taiwan did something that seemed to work very well. Hawaii did something that seems to be working better than most the rest of the country. We have 50 states with 50 different sets of regulations and levels going down then spiking later. I suspect it will be a number of years before we will ever get solid numbers on exactly what regulations appeared to be effective and which were not.

If by "same thing" you mean letting the propaganda do my thinking for me, I beg to differ.

Pointing out that NOTHING is working is easy and fairly straight forward. Figuring out what elements out of many ARE working requires a much more nuanced approach.

A more relevant question than the ones you proposed is which countries were able to keep their economies in tact? From where I am sitting it looks like the cold weather countries with the hardest lockdowns only postponed their outbreaks thereby damaging themselves unnecessarily.

Another important question would be all the different sources of the data, and if any perverse incentives exist to skew reporting in a way that either makes the situation look better or worse than it actually is?

The propagandists censor and attack everyone who asks those questions. Again...not very scientific

For anyone paying attention, you should be aware already that the COVID-19 pandemic has done what only Socialism/Communism has done:  made everyone EQUAL.

If you are afraid you're going to die from COVID-19, and are voluntarily isolating in your home, avoiding any gatherings, staying 6 feet from everyone, wearing masks no matter what, and constantly washing your hands, etc., etc., then you have made yourself miserable.

If you are not terrified of COVID-19 and would rather be living your life as you choose but have been ordered, and in most cases forced, to live the way I described above, then you, too, are miserable but at the direction of government.

We are all equally miserable now with regards to having the freedom to go about our lives as we choose taken away.  It won't be much longer until our economy can't function under these conditions, and that part of our lives will also be miserable for us all.

All of us ECXEPT for those running the government.  They get paid very well to decide how we will live, and then decide which rules they themselves must follow.

The COVID Con – Beyond Absurd

December 30, 2020 ~ COVID-19 is a truly amazing virus – one which has apparently cured seasonal influenza, measles, heart disease, tuberculosis, cancer and most other diseases and also abolished death from natural causes and even accidents. It appears to be highly intelligent and very selective – extremely virulent in churches, schools, restaurants, gyms, bars/clubs, and at social gatherings in private homes, yet seemingly has no effect on the thousands of employees who work at Walmart, Target, K-mart, Home Depot, Amazon Warehouses, etc… and especially liquor stores.

The virus can also live on any surface – except for anything shipped in the mail by Amazon.

Despite that the virus can travel distances of up to 6 feet, but not beyond 6’1″, many public parks and beaches nevertheless remain restricted as a necessary precaution against any possible spread of infection.

The halls of the U.S. Congress, Senate, national parliaments, and most other hubs of government power around the world also seem to be largely unaffected by the deadly disease.

The virus seems to mainly target small, independent, mom & pop businesses – restaurants, barbershops, salons and such, which generally see far fewer customers than their corporate, big-box counterparts.

Actually I was listening to a discussion as to why China has something to hide. According to the discussion it appears that the type of bat that China claims had the virus which made the jump to humans is not from that area of China. Not even close. And because of that it turns out that that breed of bat is not sold at the wet market in Wuhan. So they have something to hide according to the conversation I was listening to. And apparently the WHO team knows this. Which brings back the discussion of the origin of the virus. Especially with the virology lab so close by. Makes one wonder....
