Despite updated federal COVID recommendations, state officials do not believe the Safe Travels Hawaii program requires significant changes.

Last week, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued updated COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, which allow for people who were potentially exposed to the virus — travelers, for example — to end quarantine after seven days, if a test taken on or after the fifth day provides negative results. [Or 10 days max without a test, rather than the former 14 days... which Hawaii still requires, because, you know, THE VIRUS!!!]

However, those new recommendations are unlikely to change the state’s current travel policy, with members of the House Select Committee on COVID-19 agreeing during a Monday meeting that the Safe Travels program is working well as is.

Which tests?  For football players?  Or the tests for antibodies?

I recall tests for antibodies being not that accurate, but that was a while ago.  I haven't seen or looked into it recently. 

Then there's the accuracy doubts of the rapid test kits.   Particularly the ones that many Oahu folks lined up for hours to take. 

I wonder if our "government" will allow us the freedom to choose whether to get vaccinated or not.

If they don't we are on our way to a socialist america.  We will all get cards to show our vaccination history and whether we can do this or do that, depending on the health "police".  It's a wonderful way for the elite to control the unwashed masses.

If you young'uns like sticking your noses in other people's business, there is a future in becoming a health enforcement comrade in the new democratic people's republic of america.

Well, if the vaccine is effective for them, they don't have to worry about becoming symptomatic, but... I posted earlier in this thread that even the CEO of Pfizer has stated that it is unknown whether a vaccinated person, who will not develop symptoms if person is in the "success" group, can still carry a viral load sufficient to infect other persons. They (the successfully vaccinated) will be just like asymptomatic infectious persons are now. I.s. they could spread the virus to others. Except, that the current evidence strongly suggests that virtually all positive RT-PCR testing people are highly unlikely to have sufficient viral load to be infectious.

In other words, THE VIRUS!!! Safety Cult will demand that EVERYONE must follow all diktats (masks, distancing, gathering size limits (including in your own home), who can be in the gathering, travel restrictions, quarantines, lockdowns, etc.) by the apparatchiks FOREVER... because THE VIRUS!!!.

I would say follow the money. My daughter paid $159 for a nose swabs kit and it's not refundable. Science my glutemas maximas, power and money in my experience.

Since I am quoted.  I think its perfectly fine,  the results speak for themselves Hawaii's cases are not rising.  We are in decent shape covid wise and one of the lowest in the nation.  And the restrictions appear to be effective. 4 less days of quarantine isn't going to change the world.  CDC still recommends it for those not getting tested. My industry already requires testing, but only has a few positions open at the moment. This spring it is supposed to get really busy but I am looking for other work because most likely they will require a vaccine and my personal health is not worth the extra money. That seems like the big play of the Covid Cult, destroy small business so that we are all forced to work for giant corporations with their silly and dangerous requirements.
