UV-B has been around for months now that does kill the virus.  Many hospitals overseas and major businesses use them.  Businesses like the German bus system, hospitals have a machine/robot that stays in a vacant room, etc...

The problem is a real UV-B system is harmful to people when exposed for X amount of minutes.  So there are many products that claim they're UV-B lights that kill Covid.  Which are not true because if it was real UV-B, the handheld wand would also burn the user.  And the UV-B has to be on the virus for X amount of time as well. So I have friends who buy the wand and just scan type of exposure motion (seconds), which even if it was a real UV-B device, would not kill Covid.

Even though every single thing you can think of, or even imagine, about Great Britain is completely different than the U.S. (though not yet proved in a court of law), I'd take a super longshot bet that by a ginormous miracle of coincidences, that much of this information applies to the U.S. to a roughly equal degree. Just a wild conspiracy theory hunch.

Lockdowns Pose Greatest Threat to Mental Health Since Second World War

According to the country’s leading psychiatrist, the ongoing restrictions pose the greatest threat to mental health since the Second World War. The Guardian has more.

Dr Adrian James, the president of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, said a combination of the disease, its social consequences and the economic fallout were having a profound effect on mental health that would continue long after the epidemic is reined in.

As many as 10 million people, including 1.5 million children, are thought to need new or additional mental health support as a direct result of the crisis.

“This is going to have a profound effect on mental health,” James said. “It is probably the biggest hit to mental health since the Second World War. It doesn’t stop when the virus is under control and there are few people in hospital. You’ve got to fund the long-term consequences.”

Demand for mental health services dropped at the start of the pandemic as people stayed away from GP surgeries and hospitals, or thought treatment was unavailable. But the dip was followed by a surge in people seeking help that shows no sign of abating.

Data from NHS Digital reveals that the number of people in contact with mental health services has never been higher, and some hospital trusts report that their mental health wards are at capacity. “The whole system is clearly under pressure,” James said.

Modelling by the Centre for Mental Health forecasts that as many as 10 million people will need new or additional mental health support as a direct result of the coronavirus epidemic. About 1.3 million people who have not had mental health problems before are expected to need treatment for moderate to severe anxiety, and 1.8 million treatment for moderate to severe depression, it found.

The overall figure includes 1.5 million children at risk of anxiety and depression brought about or aggravated by social isolation, quarantine or the hospitalisation or death of family members. The numbers may rise as the full impact becomes clear on Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, care homes and people with disabilities.

Gee, imagine that... a few of the Safety Cultist gurus admitting publicly that no vaccine, no therapeutic, no test will change the need for people to follow the restrictions... ever. Who woulda thunk it?

https://www.smh.com.au/world/europe/who-warns-vaccinated-travellers-could-still-need-to-be-quarantined-20201229-p56qk3.html

World Health Organisation scientists say that the vaccines being rolled out are extremely unlikely to eradicate COVID-19.

WHO's chief scientist Dr Soumya Swaminathan told a virtual press conference

"I don't believe we have the evidence on any of the vaccines to be confident that it's going to prevent people from actually getting the infection and therefore being able to pass it on".

"We need to assume that people who have been vaccinated also need to take the same precautions till there's a certain level of herd immunity. This is a dynamic in an evolving field."

Dr Mike Ryan, director of WHO's Health Emergencies warned that COVID-19 was here to stay.

"The likely scenario is the virus will become another endemic virus, a virus will remain somewhat of a threat but a very low level threat in the context of an effective global vaccination program," Dr Ryan said.

"The existence of a vaccine, even at a high efficacy, there's no guarantee of eliminating or eradicating an infectious disease, that is a very high bar for us to be able to get over," he said.

Dr David Heymann from London's School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene went further.

"No matter what we've done to date, it will continue to spread, despite vaccines, despite therapeutics, despite diagnostic tests," he said of the virus. "We have to learn to live with this and use the tools that we can in the best way possible."

a bit?
from 60-70% to 90-95% is a 50% increase!

look at his history with HIV/AIDS and tell me he is the right man for the job...

I will look into his past but let me at least pose this question to you:

Given the inherent nature trying to understand and predict something like this, wouldn't we expect a certain amount of uncertainty? Wouldn't we expect a certain amount of inaccurate predictions? Wouldn't we expect quite a bit of variation considering that we are able to influence the outcome thereby affecting the predictions?

You may be comfortable this this kind of reasoning, but where does one draw the line? Who decides how far to take it, and how would you know if they decided to take it way too far?

A fair question, there isn't really a clear line to be honest. But on that same note are there not also times we would want our government to lie? Imagine a wartime situation, it might be in the interest of an offensive action for the government to lie to the public. I think you are right to be cautious and not just excuse any and all government lie under the guise of it is important, but in this specific instance I can certainly see how it was necessary.

Let me pose this question, what if Fauci hadn't lied and instead told us all that masks do help and we should all get them? We would likely have seen a worse run on them and we would have risked hospitals and first responders without sufficient protective gear. This may have meant more dead or more sick (and out of commission) medical personnel which would/could have made things worse.

And look at his various hypocrisies, not the least of which is being at a baseball game with people seated directly on each side of him while he wears no mask and is not eating or drinking.

I didn't know he did this and if so I certainly would criticize him for it however what I wonder is why Fauci gets such criticism yet Trump gets such a pass for doing the same (and worse) types of things surrounding covid?

When an EXPERT gives a range of 10% (60%-70%), it's understood that the BEST ESTIMATE allows for a 10% variance.  When that variance is increased another 10% and then another 10%, it's reasonable to ask were they that far off because of unknown variables, lack of proper methodology, or politics?

You're parroting exactly what Fauci said today, but the kicker is always, "Why did you not EXPLAIN AT THE TIME that the numbers presented were just estimates and have XX% degree of confidence?"

They throw about numbers and predictions with NO caveats like all statistical predictions include, such as +/- 10% or 20%.  This is no different than Climate change.  We're bashed over the head to "listen to the experts", but then the experts are never right.  All they can do is drag out and dust off an excuse with NO APOLOGIES for the harm their bad guesses caused.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

If cloth masks are just as effective as the masks that first responders use why would fauci have to say anything? Even if the general populace went out and bought up all of the commercially available masks the first responders and hospital workers could just use cloth masks, right?

Fauci gets the criticism because he’s being the hypocrite. If you sit there and say wear your masks in public (Fauci) but then gets caught not following his own advice he’s either full of shit (my bet) or he’s a dumbass (could be both).

It was a careless maneuver that undermined government credibility, and ultimately emboldened the Covid Cult to shamelessly keep moving the goalposts and engaging in the worst sort of hypocritical behavior because they knew the media was in their pocket and would protect  them.

I can understand why you would be comfortable with lies because cops get to lie all the time. It’s an expected part of the job that puts them in a position of privilege, because if I lie back then I could lose my freedom. Even now you act like covid is an automatic death sentence when that is clearly not the case. A matter of convenience I suppose, like letting criminals go in order to make the stats look good.

How about treating us like adults instead of subjects? That’s the problem with deep state kool aid drinkers, The powers that be are taking a giant dump on us and you are insisting that we should thank them for it.
Pretending to be offended does not make you a good person.

Only the grossly uninformed could claim they never saw these extremely widely published photos of Fauci violating this own rules (and apparently not chastising his wife when she took her mask off), which he claimed endangered the lives of everyone. There are many photos of him in other situations both not wearing his mask properly and contaminating it by touching it (which means it should be disposed of immediately and replaced with a sterile mask using sterile gloves and only touching the ear bands, not the mask itself). What a fucking joke. You Safety Cultists are so full of shit. Liars and rationalizers.
