Lockdowns Forever
« on: November 10, 2020, 06:59:29 PM »
The long dark winter that Joe promised is almost upon us, and it looks like they are itching for mask mandates and nation wide lockdowns. Cops were handing out tickets to some bodyboard boys in the Makapuu parking lot last night as they were loading back up in their car. People are not going to stand for this much longer.

Wanna bet? When was the last time a population of sheep stood up to the encroaching tyranny?

I agree. Even with the news of vaccines, our leaders are quick to temper hope. They're focused on spending all that COVID Fed money and trying to pass a law mandating masks and whatever comes to mind. Our population is in full compliance and we have a quasi citizen group that patrols social media ala 1984.
We wouldn't know we have a collar on up until the point they tell us to roll over, bark and play dead.

Lockdowns punish the poor the worst while it is a minor annoyance for middle class and a big pay day for the wealthy who benefit from the death of small business competition and pork barrel bailouts. Up until this point many of us have been able live relatively comfortably or at least squeak by. Once people have nothing to lose their demeanor changes very rapidly.

I wish I could disagree.... and muster some evidence to the contrary... but, alas, I've witnessed the utterly buffoonish profound ignorance of the "man on the street" threaten violence at someone who posed no danger to anyone, but the ignoramus felt "offended" and lashed out (while all the other witnesses to the tirade walked past as if it wasn't even happening). Look back at the history of brutal dictatorships where the people ended up killing their neighbors, siblings and parents because they violated the mandates of the "new leader" (aka "new normal"). You'd think "that's impossible" and/or "it can't happen here". Famous last refrain of many, including the Jews of Germany who found the "new rules" only slightly inconvenient ("What's it hurt that we have to wear a Star of David on our clothing, and give up our guns?"). I hope I'm wrong about the severity of the impending statist diktats, but I don't see the sheep uttering even the slightest objection.

It will start with a 2 week lock down, then extend.  Just like they did with HI.

Two minute video (at the twitter link) of store owners resisting attempts by "THE VIRUS!!!" cops to cite them for "code enforcement". They tell the cops they are trespassing and to go get a warrant. Is there one single store owner in all of Hawaii that believes enough in personal freedom, liberty and fundamental individual rights to take a similar stand against the authoritarian fascists that run this place?

Breaking the law/restrictions. Screaming private property.    it doesn't work like that.  It's not like you can commit crimes and just because it happened on private property you are immune.   Hope they are fined. That's like a restaurant banning health inspectors... cause they can't pass code

So what was the law being broken?

For someone who argues freedom, you have a twisted perception...

Connection to health inspection is an absurd analogy... Hawaii has Chapter 50 Food Safety Code. How does that connect to inspection in the example provided?

NO!
I'm not in a good mood today.
Most the guys in Hawaii BEG! for permission to buy a gun,
then register it so they can take it away from you
on the flimsiness of accusations.

You permit your government to run roughshod
over your rights and still try to cooperate with
the shit in Honolulu.

This is a public forum.
I'm not making threats.
I won't break any constitutional
laws.
But I'd advise you guys to plan
and get ready for the worst
assault you have ever seen.
The cops aren't your friends.
the Government isn't here
to help you.

There is a way
to withhold all your taxes till next April,
legally. Think about that kind of strike.
Burn it down.

Aloha.

The only laws I see broken are those in the Constitution, and the actual laws on the books that limit governors' emergency powers to 60 days, after which the LEGISLATURE is required to continue restrictions if needed.

But, I guess it's just easier to let a single Governor and/or Mayor dictate what the law is than for THEM to follow the actual law.

Covid gathering restrictions?    Health inspectors need to inspect if a business is following guidelines for food safety or covid safety.  Its pretty danm similar.

Also I am not anti-regulation.   Like I said a million times freedom is absolute unless it takes away another's freedoms.  Aka a restaurant does not have the freedom to make patrons sick.  Or someone has the freedom to infect someone with a virus negligently.

So there’s your charge. Where’s your proof that the above was happening?

In a country that has a constitution generally and specifically upholding fundamental individual natural/God-given rights, incorporated specifically to protect the ability to pursue "life, liberty, and happiness", private businesses would be allowed to make their own policies, and the public would be free to patronize or not patronize those businesses. If a business does not want to mandate that either their employees nor their customers be required to wear (useless) "cloth face coverings" or "social distance" or whatever, that should be the prerogative of the business... and likewise it should be the prerogative of all individuals to choose whether or not to enter that business. There's no masquerading the authoritarian attempt to control business practices that are none of their business, it's clearly statist authoritarian abuse of power.
