The bad news is the powers that be are ramping up the attack on 2a. The "good" news is the cops in Anaheim are doing their best to kick of The LA Riots 20th Anniversary Edition, so when angry mobs start burning down the city people will quickly remember why it's a good idea to keep some weapons and extra ammo around. I'm getting sick of watching the news already.

Hmmm, the video doesn't look great for the officers but the clip has a few holes in it. It shows the officers shooting but not the action of the people who are being shot at so we cannot judge whether it was justified or not. The video also does not show the actions of the crowd that brought all these officers with their less lethal weapons. Another problem with the video is that it is 2d. We see officers shooting near a crowd but it is hard to tell if the officer is in line with the women and children or it they are a little father/closer to the camera.

The dog part does look a little worse. THe man is trying to grab the dog which makes me wonder two things. Why was the dog not responding to his verbal commands to stop and was the dog release intentional?

^^^Title is a bit misleading on the vids.

Ammo from what I can tell is non/less lethal.  Title makes it seem like it's live rounds.

The dog.........from the way the officer is grabbing at him makes me think the dog was not released intentionally and from what little there is in the vid no woman with a baby had the dog attack her.

Now all this said, the police could have probably handled the situation better, but there is so little information it's difficult to tell what happened.

It looks quite close for less than lethal. I couldn't really judge distances in the video, but it seemed like he was pretty close to the minimum distance.

^^^Not the stuff the LEO is firing out of his shotgun.  BTW I would hope these guys would use a properly colored shotgun that would let him and the other LEO's know he's using less lethal.............one day those guys are going to load up a slug or 00 buck by mistake.

Glad they shot that little kid. He looked really dangerous. Wonder if the dog got the runs from all the Mexican it just ate.

Watch the very beginning of the vid and look at the LEO with the shotgun.  He makes a motion like he's racking to reload/change his load.

At 1:20 of the vid you can see a LEO discharge his shotgun.  Some agencies specifically used colored shotguns and other firearms so they know they are using less lethal.  In this case the LEO is probably changing out to less lethal loads.  In all the craziness it would be an easy to make a mistake and load up 00 buck or slugs.  Also the colored shotgun discharge would be less likely to ramp up fellow LEO's on the scene and if they see a LEO dump the colored less lethal and pull another firearm/rifle/shotgun it would be an immediate and unmistakeable sign that someone felt the need to go lethal.

^^^Nah don't need to.  It's basically a snapshot.  We don't know what the initial shooting was about, we don't know the disposition of the crowd or officers.  The situation needs to be investigated.
