Hunting ammo for decades if not eternity (I’m lazy & lame)
More than enough Ar style rifles, bolt guns, shotguns and pistols
More than enough ar magazines
I think I have enough mags for my g48 and g23 (6? Each)
Just bought 10 more Duramag 9mm colt style mags
Still trying to get blem Bcm stripped uppers to complete my 9mm and Grendel builds
Still trying to stock more 22lr since my family took up shooting

I did not get into firearms until after I saw hurricane Katrina.  So I didn’t feel the impact of the AWB.

Prices are higher but not the panic $100 per pmag high, so I’m trying to fill any gaps while prices are reasonable

What are you getting in case of a possible 2nd AWB?

But he could restrict imports of firearms and ammunition.  Should start getting those if you're interested in any.

During the nobama administration we had a hui to bring in a pallet of ammo.  A lot of it was Russian 7N6 which would have been about 14¢ a round shipped.  While we were putting the order together Barry banned 7N6 as 'armor piercing' and the supply evaporated overnight.

I'd buy a case of 9mm.  Months later I'd be at a gun store and see cheap ammo for sale.  Then I'm thinking I'm running out of ammo, need to buy more so I buy a case.  Get home and open the closet to discover the older case of ammo.  Dammit.  6 months later same thing.

Then there's powder and primers.

I'm pretty good on 9mm and supplies.

My friend is also blessed.  As he is clearing up and putting things away, he keeps finding more boxes of ammo.

He always tries to support the lgs.  When he goes to a lgs, he always buys a few boxes of ammo even if he doesn’t need it.  Apparently, he just puts them down all over his place.

Tim - The question depends on what your needs and interests are, and are you willing to sacrifice your interests.  By that I mean say if you're interested in firearms training with 9 mm, do you want to keep on training?  Or are you willing to cut back or stop that if ammo isn't available or if your ammo stores got below a certain level.  IMO, that's where you need to prioritize. 

As for buying items ahead of an AWB, I don't think can tell at this point.  No way in knowing what items will be pursued.  While concerning, I'm just taking the approach of enjoying shooting as best as I can and evaluate how things change over time.  I have started getting into handloading and reloading due to the recent market conditions, but that evolution is to support current interests.

I have regretted passing on things that were available and then it sold out while I was considering it.  I am usually able to find it again later for a decent price though.  I will say there are MANY things that I bought and never to rarely use, but I don't regret buying them.  Then there's the stuff that I've given away over the years.

Another thing Biden can do is disrupt the sales of 1911 and M1 Garands at the CMP.  I believe the CMP operates under a Federal statute, but Biden could find a way to screw with it.

One key question is are you willing to pay a premium for items?

For me, in general, no.  I've been late to the game on reloading/handloading, but thankfully have good friends helping out with the essentials.  That and I've been shopping around and finding other components for non-inflated prices.  Many thanks to those vendors.  In a couple of cases, I probably spent maybe 10-20% above pricing I had seen elsewhere, but the local shop had it in stock, so I went for it.  But I'm not paying much more than that. 

There are online vendors that will allow you to place an order and "get in line", which I have done with a few places.  I can wait. 

That's NOT a criticism on folks who are either willing to pay a premium or maybe even "forced" to pay a premium due to timing, or whatevers.  Just mentioning my thought process.  In the end, you gotta do what you gotta do.  Yeah, things kind of suck for firearms enthusiasts right now, but I think some of the panic is self induced.

I've said this before, if you know how much ammo you have, you don't have enough.

I will make a Costco run to resupply my pantry to full.
As a normal rule of thumb I keep at least a 6 month supply of non perishables,
a freezer of beef, one freezer of pork, and a freezer of fish, turkey, ham and whatever
else came up on sale..
Also I keep a very comprehensive First aid kit. Self designed.
I even have Israeli IDF battle bandages.
I don't hoard, I prepare for Natural and man made disasters.

I've said this before, if you know how much ammo you have, you don't have enough.

A lot of people in the puna area have gennys.  If just one abezillea tree goes down, it takes ages to clear it and restore power.  Those trees are massive.  Makes a power pole look like twig.

With the guy that spearheaded the AWB in the 90’s soon being the POTUS, it will be really really interesting.  I rather be safe and get stuff while I can and while the cost isn’t highly inflated.  It sucked having to search for stuff or going to the lgs multiple times because of low quantities.

to power freezers in a very short period of time.
