2a debate on CNN Piers Morgan
« on: July 24, 2012, 01:55:47 AM »
I don't follow politics often, so please excuse anything politically incorrect.  With that said, I was quite disturbed on the "facts" that was put out on this show.  Most of it was personal opinions (by Peirs Morgan who is not even a American) based on the Dark Knight shooting.  The person attempting to defend the rights of 2a (author John Lott) couldn't even talk.  It was hard for me to understand why they would even have a debate it is was going to be so anti-gun.  The only reason I watched this was because I was hoping for an actual fair debate.  Wrong......So, my question is has there ever been a FAIR debate within recent years when it come to 2a that has been televised?  Can'f find any on youtube... :(

Just because it's on CNN doesn't make it "news". It's his talk show and he's going to express his personal opinions. That's no different than the 100's of others out there. My advice (especially if you have a digital cable box): don't watch that crap, you're only adding to the ratings.

Try watching CSPAN, it's what the fairly educated look to for an unbiased discussion.

Ahh, CNN, Channel for Nightly Nonsense...
Along with MSNBC, More Socialism from Nitwit Biased Clowns.  These are not 'news' channels.

Piers Morgan is an idiot, and he wants to make our country as screwed up as his is.
I cant stand the so called 'news' broadcasts, they are filled with so much interjected drama and bias.

I just listen to snippets on the radio for my news nowdays.

Local PBS,  I'd say within the last year or so, Hi Carry, HRA President and some antis had a "discussion"

Major + for our side.  Pissed on the antis parade.

We Need more like them next January when legislature opens.

Expect MORE Anti 2A legislation.

You can bet that the Antis are planning it now.

Unless they're under 5 or over 60, most don't watch PBS. So I don't think it scored much points with those who might make a difference.

I mentioned it before...someone put a show up on 'Ōlelo or even OC16. I mean if they'll let the tranny have "Shaka Talk" (look it up, it's kinda entertaining), there is no reason HDF can't do something. I believe having a showcase of the shooting sports with the diverse "normal" people who participate would do a lot to help the cause. They could run segments about, classes, gun safety, cleaning/maintenance, etc.

Mahalo for the insight guys  :shaka:.  I guess I should have realized that it was a talk show and just changed the channel.  I'm currently on travel in Guam and the hotel cable sucks so I'm really limited on watching anything on TV.  I'll try CSPAN and the usual local news when I get back home.  It's just disturbing how it seems that there are so many narrow minded people on TV that are able to support their OWN views on TV.

Actually the PBS "debate" I had with Ed Case, Keith Kaneshiro, Avi Soifer, and Dan Boyland (I include Mr. Boyland because, despite the "educational" bent of PBS, it was quite obvious that he was an "anit" and was happy to interject himself into the discussion whenever he thought it would be adventageous to promoting his anti-gun agenda rather than just providing a forum where the facts could be debated...) was one of the most watched episodes of Insights, or at least that's what the producer told me. Interestingly enough, when I pressed her to have another episode on gun issues, since it was obviously so popular, she declined, saying they "never repeat an issue." But, if you go to their archives, you can clearly see they do...just look at the number of episodes on APEC. So, in reality, they (PBS) just didn't want another episode that would further refute their anti-gun messages and bias.

I had Dr. Boyland as a Prof. at UH. I was advised never to bring up 2a issues or the NRA.

Talk about pro-gun folks not being able to get a word in edgewise, the famous example of loudmouthed Rosie O'Donnel ambushing actor Tom Selleck on May 19, 1999 stands out.  (Tom Selleck, if you didn't know it before, is a Director of the NRA and is one of the top vote-getters in NRA Director's elections.)

In my humble undocumented observation, it's almost a prerequisite for getting a job on TV or in Hollywood that your thinking is "evolved," meaning you toe the progressive line like a good little communist soldier.

"Evolved," by the way, seems to be the new catchword for "progressive."   Which itself was the catchword for "socialist."  Which, in turn, was the catchword for communist.

These "evolved" thinkers are pretty sensitive to semantic nuances, and as soon as they perceive that the general public is starting to catch on to another "soft" name for communist, they change to something more innocuous.

Just my humble, undocumented observations over six decades of watching our rights dissolve because of these "evolved" thinkers.

OK, OK, call it a rant.  I can live with that.

So idiot bloomberg wants the police to go on strike...

Haha, what an idiot. Go ahead and strike... I'm ready.
The only citizens that would suffer, are the idiot liberal/progressives that don't own guns and depend on the nanny state to care for them. I'll take care of mine, I always have and always will. Police are not there to 'protect' you, they are there to clean up the mess afterward.
