Maryland will have to begin issuing concealed carry permits without requiring a good and substantial reason by the applicants.

Last March, U.S. District Court Judge Benson E. Legg had struck down as unconstitutional the provisions requiring a "good and substantial" reason for issuing permits.  However, he had granted a stay of execution of his order so that an appeal could be filed.  He rescinded that stay order yesterday, 23 July:

I do believe that the radical and crazy notion that the Founders meant what they said, is gradually soaking through the judicial system.

I can only hope that Hawaii would allow CCW laws to all state citizens. But I'm a realist and that won't ever happen unless we have more pro gun law makers in our legislature.

Boy, if you do, you'd better not have any bones, let alone skeletons, in your closets.  Otherwise an unsympathetic media will be all over you like a wet dream.

I'm told that the standard answer in states requiring a "reason" on firearms applications is "For all legal purposes."  Seems to work for them.  Not that a "reason" should be required in the first place.

Or an "application," for that matter.

All we need is one teeny tiny little SCOTUS decision finding that the 2nd Amendment doesn't stop at your front door, and presto change-o, we've got shall-issue permits in Hawaii.  See also, Roe v. Wade.
