Yep.  The people trying to constantly associate the GOP with Trump, and vice versa, are ignoring the whole reason Trump was elected.

We're tired of the status quo FROM BOTH PARTIES.  It took 2 years for the DC GOP to mostly support Trump, and a good many still support the swamp over him.

This is just my opinion,  but there are Democrats that can never be
convinced that they are idiots. the same can be said for some Republicans.
So all our elections are aimed at the people that can't make
up their mind.

Bernie Sanders is a SOCIALIST who identifies in Congress as an Independent (I).  He caucuses with the Democrats (Socialists of a feather...), and he had to sign an agreement that, if he won the Democrat nomination for the presidential race, he would have to switch his party affiliation to Democrat (D). 

So, you keep saying you're voting for whoever you want.  You can do that even if you register (D) or (R).  Failing to commit doesn't make you any more Independent than me or others in this state.  Dems can vote for Trump, and Reps can vote for Biden.  All you're really doing is fixing it so you can't vote in the primaries.

I'm just not terrified of what other people would think if they found out I'm registered for a specific party.

I find that most Independents I've encountered are really former Democrats who can't stand the party any more, but have been so brainwashed to hate Republicans they can't  bring themselves to join the GOP.  Hence, they pretend to be on the fence and claim "I'm Independent", like that's better than having an actual party preference.
