Good luck passing that turd of an amendment through both houses of congress in an election year...

I have a feeling that one won't even make it out of committee. Not if democratic party strategists have any say in the matter, at least. Too much risk of alienating the critical moderate vote.

He's quite correct that most Americans don't need an "Assault Weapon" to go hunting or protect themselves. Most of us don't have them, either. I can't recall anyone ever hunting with a select fire weapon. Doesn't even know what the hell he's talking about.

The second amendment doesn't say "the ability to hunt, being necessary to the feeding of a free state..."

That is the bone of contention here. No matter what the pro-gun control folks say, no matter how reasonable or level headed any "common sense" gun control measures might be... any restrictions of rights gives more power to the government and less to the people. Its not about grandpa's hunting rifle. Its about the fundamental principle that an armed populace helps keep the central government honest.

That's why it is difficult to find good compromises, Senator. Its not because we mistakenly think you are being unreasonable. It because we think you are mistaken about the true dangers involved in federal gun control measures.

So the senate and everyone else but us gets to vote on this. How does that work. They think they know what's best for us so they make new laws and amendments that they think will protection us without any feedback from us. God I love this country

That is why it is a good idea to vote for politicians that are Pro-Gun.  That is where we the people get our say.

We need assault weapons to protect us from the goverment or foreign invaders. Who is going to protect the people if the military and police can not?
Listening to the AM talk shows about 2A they are talking more along the lines of who is protecting us from terrorists?  The border sure is not!

Wish I could remember the politician that was quoted some time back saying  "The 2nd A was not about hunting animals, it was about hunting politicians"..... or words to that effect.  I loved it..........though I am sure the MSM and liberals lost an ovary over it.

I'm much less concerned after I re-read the article and realized that this amendment would make it illegal to transfer or possess standard-capacity magazines.  There may have been a chance if it was like the '94 AWB, but there is no chance in hell they're going to get a bill through both houses that instantly makes criminals of damn near every gun owner in America.  No way, no how, not happening.

Ellipsis are always followed by a lower case character or punctuation mark, unless followed by a proper noun.

Don't worry - your mags are safe. I've read it over and over recently: they trying to ban high capacity clips.

Mags or clips won't mean a thing, they'll regulate your ammo purchases...

This is sneaky legislation - gotta watch it.  People also need to be careful about their magazines, selling 100 round magazines right now is a bad idea lol.

Wow I've heard some mainland states already do that, but it would suck if everyone was required to do that. Reading through the 4 pillars, don't sound like it would stop criminals or those that break the law. It would just limit law abiding citizens and make it harder for us, but easier to end up on a watch list.
