Here's the problem.

Big Tech (FB, Twitter, Google, etc.) have been arguing they are protected by Section 230 by virtue of them being "platforms", not publishers.  They can't be held liable nor accountable for anything a member publishes on the open platform.  If someone posts something that is unlawful (child porn, inciting violence, etc.) the authorities go after the people who posted it, NOT the service providing the platform.

Now, Amazon Web Services is treating the PLATFORM (Parler) differently, holding them accountable for what members posted.

Double standard.

Since the other Big Tech "platforms" own their servers and infrastructure, they are immune from this kind of retribution by a service provider.

The whole situation details another reason why Big Tech has become so dangerous.  If everyone who starts up a new social media site wants to protect themselves from similar BS, they will need to own their servers or at least lease them from a company that's not under the thumb of the Left, the DNC or Big Tech.  That severely hinders new competition -- just what any monopoly or oligopoly desires.

BTW, it should be fairly obvious to  everyone by now that one of Big Tech's agenda items is to promote and protect the bit MSM corporations while censoring, demonetizing and deplatforming the Right, independent journalists and smaller media organizations.

The site was taken down by Amazon at 3AM EST.

Dan Bongino updated everyone on this situation. They had an ISP with servers to back up their website yo and at the last minute they backed out. So now it will be at least 2-3 days before they come back.

I'm not expecting parlor to ever come back since their advertisers fled and they'll have no income.  Unless they start charging for memberships.

Or crowd-sourcing.

Or public offering of stock.

Or some billionaire offers capital to create a startup company to provides data and network services.  (Trump?)

We will see. This week has already been pretty brutal for big tech stocks, so the magical fist of the free market might still have some commie smashing to do

Bongino was also claiming that Twitter was losing (by their own hand) some of their biggest and most popular users. Biting the hand that feeds them. It seems that conservative users are more popular with the swamp people on Twitter than swamp creatures themselves! LOL

It would not surprise me to find that the CEOs and other big stockholders of the Big Tech firms dumped a lot of their shares before Friday.

They'll wait until the price bottoms out again, then buy it back at a hefty discount.

It's the individual investors, retirement/pension funds and employees who get laid off that suffer.  Jack and Zuck still have more money than they'll ever be able to spend.

It'd be difficult without reoccurring income.  Those options only provide startup funding and investors want to make a profit .  For example Snapchat, one of the smaller social media companies, spends $1.3 billion a year with 83 million users if parlor requires 10% of that, that would be $130 million per year.

It's difficult to maintain a business model of divisiveness and hate if everyone on the system agree with everyone else there.

I dropped all SM long ago, and I've never regretted it.  All the people who live their lives and run their businesses on SM were smart at the time to become part of that "trend", but things change.

Even if another service crushes FB and Twitter into oblivion, the new companies will have the same temptation to sell information in order to build their company.  Requiring users pay for membership just doesn't make billionaires -- except for porn sites (so I hear).

I'd love to see FB declare bankruptcy, but I don't think that'll solve the real problem.  As long as people flock to the next grand online experiment, with no care about privacy or ethics, this'll never stop.  In fact, there are people praying FB and Twitter loses members so they can then become the $hearer of those sheeple.

Recurring income is already a given through advertising, merchandising and events.
