Got on the Spectrum support automated chat.  It's a known outage...no details. No expected time to fix given (pop-up said "by 9:30pm!).

When we first moved here we had some pretty bad major outages. One was about 8-9 hours. When I bitched about it to some friends they looked at me and laughed and said welcome to rural America!

Seems being in IT for part of my life has jaded my expectations to have a more reliable Internet. So what does rural America do when the Internet goes out? Four words. Jack Daniels, Porn Videos. Now why didn’t I think of that?

It’s weird. Everyone here has DVD and BluRay players. I think I stopped watching movies on disc about 6-8 years ago.

Having movies mailed to your house from Netflix is still a thing out here. Who knew?

Streaming content sucks unless you are under 30-40, judging from the titles.  Plus, it is flakey unless you have a fast internet service.  I do not.
Wife finds airhead stuff to watch on Roku it seems.

Stuff of the quality I want is usually only found on DVD.  Had to buy a copy of the original "Getaway".   Same with "The Man Who Would Be King"

You are absolutely right. I really thought when the occasional conservative movie would come out that someone would see the opportunities and jump on it and start a parallel movie business.

"Upon Request"  Pretty important thing you missed writing there.  Had me worried.    You could request your internet provider block everything    Its only bad if its the other way around and the internet provider chooses what you can and cant see.

Might be a while.  There's talk that the data was not backed up off of AWS, which I guess is not surprising for companies like that   Although that may not be true since a hacker copied all the data from Parlor before it shutdown, probably to frame and cancel people.
