Pepper ball Pistola

I’ve seen a bunch of ads for these and seen some in LGS recently.

What is everyone’s take on this and what are the legalities / implications of carrying and deploying this since ccw isn’t really an option for most of us.

Prob cant carry in public lol.

Better to use that in a home defense than a firearm. With hawaii's law in mind.

For me, I think a 1.5 oz can of pepper is as big as I would want to go for carrying around in my pocket.  I think Carrying a pepper pistol iwb is a little too bulky for me.  (Im fat and wouldn’t carry a real pistol even if ccw was allowed.  It was uncomfortable.  Maybe if I wasn’t 50lbs overweight)

The Pepper pistol i looked at on Amazon is bulky, expensive, ammo is kind of pricey, not sure on shelf life of the pepper balls.

I think they would be ok for home use if money isn’t an issue and you want less than lethal. And you remember to rotate out the old pepper balls

Legal to carry since it's not a firearm, but pointing it at someone might get you shot.  In a split-second decision, a Cop might not recognize it as anything other than a pistol.

Public Safety admits it has dozens of less lethal weapons,
but none available to deputies on patrol

The state has purchased at least 35 less-lethal guns and pepperball guns in the last two
years – but none of them are available for deputies in the field, a Hawaii News Now investigation
has found.

If you do, just make sure it is blaze orange. That is a universal "signature" for not a firearm. I'd do the JPX http://www.thepeppergun.com/jpx-orange-laser/
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

Unless you are LEO or criminal.

I would use a full auto BB gun instead. Shooting somebody in the face at 15 yards or less should be a strong deterrent.  But my advice would be, do not use an air gun as your SD weapon.
