primed some 9mm brass yesterday, ordered a holster this morning
preparing to plant some papaya seeds in my back yard but first I need to pull some weeds and till the soil

I planted some bittermelon today.  It usually is a summer crop but I started it anyway, should be okay.  Bittermelon is an acquired taste but is loaded with anti-oxidants that regulate your blood sugar and maintains blood pressure among other things.

With the unpredictable times we live in nowadays, I figure expand the garden and try to grow a variety of veggies, more for calming the mind and senses and to keep active and avoid turning into a slug.

I also try not to get stuck watching the endless news of the bullshit virus and our new inept president and the circus our government is becoming.  It's depressing so I try to find balance and watch porn instead, lol!

That or prepper videos.  Either one gets me stimulated....

I ordered a few more caliber specific powder funnels.  they fit super good on the brass, doesn't move at all, no spillage
the only one I'm missing is 44magnum, but the Lee universal funnel works good on the 44mag brass so no need that one

I'm prepping by sharing ammo with others. 

Prepping isn't just about "me".

Today I tried to salvage my eggplant, pole beans, and daikon radish plants that were whipped about by yesterdays rain and wind.  They look like shit.  Not sure if they will make it.

And I transplanted 7 cherry tomato plants into their permanent containers.

I also plan to plant some UH hybrid "Healani" tomatoes in the next day or two.

I gave up growing vegetables.   They are so cheap to buy if you know where to go on the Big Island. Papaya 3 for $2, eggplant $2 a lb, bunch of green onion $2, good size bag of tomato $3, to mention a few examples. It costs me more to grow my own than to buy.

True.  I did an analysis of costs like potting soil, amendments, fertilizer, containers, even water usage and it is cheaper to buy the vegetables and fruit.

There's some videos that talk about how re-using potting soil, containers, and making your own compost will eventually bring your initial investments and on-going maintenance costs lower.

I do this mostly as a hobby and out of boredom (retired) but I did install a gutter fed rain barrel to offset the water bill.

I love gardening and growing my own vegetables, but it is tough to do in my location.
1. Too high elevation.  I am at 2567 ft.  Best to be under 1000 ft.
2. Too much rain and cold.  Nights will get down to low 50s.  It is 60 degrees in my bedroom right now.
3. Rocky ground. Have to grow in containers with good soil.
So you need to grow stuff in a green house to control water and temperature where I live.
Citrus trees do well and anthuriums grow wild.

I'm at about 1000' ASL.
Bugs are my big problem. They thoroughly enjoy most everything we plant.
I'm pretty close to guys that grow all sorts of stuff cheaply and successfully.
so what we can grow,  we grow, and  barter or pay for whatever else  we need.
I'm thinking of picking up 80 Chickens.  I just haven't figure out to trans port them.
They are presently free ranging.
