Kamehameha the Great was a talented warlord. His descendants not so much. They thought playing dress up with the West would ingratiate them, but all they accomplished was to give wealthy foreigners a beachhead.
The only mistake Queen Liliuokalani made was blanketly trusting the good faith of the US.  President Cleveland, who refused to annex Hawaii right after Liliuokalani was overthrown, was one of the last American patriots serving as US President.  His successor, President McKinley was an American imperialist, who was hell bent, in acquiring foreign territory outside of CONUS including Hawaii.

The Democrats and Republicans are not warlords, just tyrants who depend on others for their power. Without the support of fake news they would have dried up and blown away 4 years ago. Now they are creating instability and inviting insurrection because they think they can control the outcome, but we are entering an age of warlords. Those who will eventually work their way up to royalty will have the necessary skills, bravery, and an organic support network. All the RINOS and DINOS know how to do is take bribes and attack anyone who disagrees with them.
I agree with your premise, but view the situation from an imperial perspective.

Consider this genealogy and timeline:
19th Century to  Present  - The US has been an oligopolistic-led empire run by the wealthy elite families/corporations.
20th Century to Present - Ultrawealthy have infiltrated not only both political parties, but most domestic NGOs through sex, drugs, and money.
1980s to Present - The US empire's decline begins, due to the ultrawealthy deciding to forsake American labor for cheap labor abroad, which exacerbated traditional social-economic problems and giving rise to new ones concerning gender, identity, environment, etc.
1988 to 2008 - Ultrawealthy decide to have US Presidency rotated among selected stooges (i.e., Bush, Clinton) to consolidate their power.
2008 - Financial crises cause further imperial decline, leading to greater civil displeasure and people's demand for change leading to ultrawealthy's back-up stooge President Obama.
2016 - Civil displeasure continues prompting people's not wanting to return to Bush/Clinton rotating chair US presidencies, leading to ultrawealthy's unsanctioned Trump Presidency.
2020 - Trump overthrown by the ultrawealthy for his failure to follow imperial edicts
2021 - US empire is in rapid decline economically, due to Covid-19; ultrawealthy in panic mode, realizing their hold on power is waning, leading them to begin their war to eradicate their greatest enemy, the remanence of the American Republic's patriots, by declaring them domestic terrorists.

Quite worth contemplating this timeline at greater length and after coffee.

I am personally all for #Texit. If Texas actually does secede, I think I would buy some land and have a home built on it. I would love to have dual citizenship. A lot of my family and I are discussing doing just this whether Texas secedes or not. But if they do I would make sure I have a home there with an eye on actually moving and living there. I believe that it would be for the greater good of the Texas citizens to secede. I applaud the strong conservatives that want to take Texas to the next level and get away from the US Federal Government Dictatorship (And for my buddy Kuleana dare I say, EMPIRE). It will obviously take a lot of planning and many months or years of negotiations. But boy wouldn’t that be a slap in the face?

You and me both only I would refuse dual citizenship. If I buy into Texas seceding I go in 100%. I propose that when Texas secedes they can be replaced by Washsewerton D.C. and the American flag will still have 50 Stars.... :D

I love it! Washsewerton DC.

I think I would want dual citizenship just because I would need the time to buy the property along with my family. And then it would take time to build the homestead between the 3-6 families as proposed. So I would want to live in AZ until everything is ready for me in TX. Then I would make the move permanently. Don’t get me wrong. Texas is not perfect by any means. And AZ is a VERY FREE state still. So being able to move freely between the two countries would be optimal for me until my home and personal range are ready in TX. BTW, we (meaning myself and 2 other family members) are already looking at land in TX. We were thinking WY at first but it looks like TX is more optimal.

Dual citizenship has advantages.  One is being able to travel between the countries without dealing with immigration and customs as much as non-citizens.

You also have the ability to possess 2 passports, which might come in handy -- presenting a domestic passport can raise fewer questions than a foreign one, even if it is from a former state.

You can also live and work freely in both countries.  That's beneficial if your job involves customers outside of the Republic of Texas

The biggest drawback could involve double taxation, where you owe taxes to both.  Countries don't always care that you paid taxes in another country on income.  At a minimum, dual citizenship makes these legal issues more complicated.

It might be 51 stars, if the Puerto Ricans are fooled to join the latest debt Ponzi pyramid scheme, known as the US empire.

God, I only hope they learn from Texas and Hawaii that all the promises of freedom and democracy are totally untrue and the money they put in, they will get back in financial debt.

I am concerned about my tax situation. I would probably only be a dual citizen for a couple of years I am thinking.

But I would be going into a land sharing deal with family. The issue right now is myself and 2 other family members are okay financially. The problem I’m concerned with is the other 2-3 family members that want in on the land purchase and homestead building are not so good with their money. And they could become more of a liability than an asset.

Texas, similar to Hawaii will have a hard time at first getting its finances in order, but will be economically viable in the long-run.

Both Texas and Hawaii share similar geographies that it can turn to revenue:
1. Both have good sea ports
2. Both can serve the role of neutral countries, as does Switzerland, to mediate regional political and trade disputes.
3. Both can take advantage of alternative forms of energy production
4. Both can designate large swaths, of their coastline, as free-trade zones
5. Both can charge passage route (land/sea) fees through its territory

I don’t know.
Commiefornia and big tech have already started their invasion of Austin and corporate America has been moving in on Dallas/Fort Worth, relocating Blue troops there.
The Blue might try to consume Texas from the inside out if they can’t secede fast enough.

I’m a man of my word.

From the thread about the Texas Congresswoman but along the lines of what I said above.
Since it’s from another member, maybe RobDmc can come up with more than a dot as a thought.

Houston, Austin and Dallas are deep blue now, and with all of the companies and people fleeing California due to the consequences of their own voting habits, Texas may go completely blue in the next couple of years.

Right.

When was the last time you came up with an original thought that wasn't intended to insult or troll someone?
