Covid 19 stim bill.  Guess the senate cannot block bills anymore like how someone said they could.  And that we will have to just live with it for the next 4 years.

There are one or two democrat senators that are moderate/centrist.  They will not always agree with all the democrats, and have said so publically, like opposing raising minimum wage to 15$.  Which is stupid thing to do.

I loved what Kroger’s did in Long Beach when the city council tried to strong arm them into paying their employees $4 more per hour because of Covid.  They had already increased their pay by $2 an hour for the added risks and said they could not afford another $2 an hour because of the razor thin 1.4% profit they were making.  Well, the city council refused to back down so Kroger is PERMANENTLY closing the two stores they have there in April, leaving dozens of workers without jobs. LA is drafting a bill to increase grocery store workers pay by $5 an hour. These F-ing politicians need to stay out of private employers business.

Dont forget certain Targets reduced hours last year due to the min wage increase as well.

Many states and cities have their own standards that set the minimum higher -- in most cases to compensate for a higher cost of living than most other places.

Any individual company/employer can set their own minimums as long as they don't go below the federal, state or local minimums.
