FYI.... another robbery by  using a weapon in waimea again. same drug store, on kawaihae road. the perp killed himself before being arrested and placed in my jail. I wouldve loved to read the police report.

I'm B from Ewa Beach. Just got into the shooting sports recently. Got my first "real" gun last year.
It's a sweet little Colt 1911. Then my bro got himself a uber accurate ar-15. Loved
shooting that but ammo was just to darn expensive.  I then got my self a chepo lee reloading set,
just to save some green. But, all be darn my hand made rounds where way more accurate than
factory! Next I got me a Rem 700 as a trade for a car I had sold. Been shootin that a while now.
Hope to start a project 6br for midrange/longrange f-class (if it ever comes thru)

The Remington 700 is just a hunting BDL in 30-06 restocked and scoped. I use it for fun/target shooting with the guy at Puuloa.  Very challenging shooting 600yrds with a light barreled hunting rifle.Haha 
Hoping to get my savage action and barrel order in from Sharp Shooter Supply/Mcgowen soon.  30-06 uses a heck of alot of powder and .30 cal bullets are getting pricey. 6mmbr is supposed to be killer accurate and use half the powder I use now.
Nice to find a Hawaii forum with a good response rate.
The others are kind of sparse in participation.

My name is Carlo. I'm 27 y/o from the Leeward side and I am a soon-to-be newbie gun owner. I just signed up for the handgun safety course and pre-purchased a Glock 19 Gen 4. My main reason for purchasing a firearm is for hobby/sport and secondly for home protection and zombie attacks. I plan on collecting more firearms in the future - looking at perhaps more Glocks (.40, .45), Sig Sauer, Kimber, etc. I do plan on purchasing a rifle and I am leaning towards an AK-47. My other hobbies are cycling and golfing. Hope to meet some of you guys at the range

Stego, congratulations on joining the shooting sports. The Glock 19 is a great first handgun which will leed to many others. Also, good job taking a handgun safety course. It should teach you a lot if you've never shot before.

hey guys. I'm new here as well. Local guy in Honolulu.

Several years ago the Army taught me how to shoot with the utmost standards on firearm etiquette in Ft. Benning before kicking me out.

Once I got back home I bought myself an AR to preserve some of the  knowledge I've picked up there. Now I have a M1A and SA 1911 as well. I will get ammo again to try to keep my aim straight. Though the gut I've been growing makes it hard to shoot prone =Op

Haven't been to the range in a while. I hope to learn a lot from you guys and actively participate in progressing our 2A rights!

Hi everyone. I found this forum from THR. I used to be stationed here in the 90's in the Army. Got out joined the Hawaii National Guard and got a federal job and have been here since. I am originally from Chicago. So living here in Hawaii is a plus as far as the gun laws are concerned. Plus the weather is great. Hope to contribute to this forum. I currently have a small gun collection( 11 guns) that I have collected over the years.
 
Hopefully concealed carry will one day come to pass here but doubt it. At least we now have a form of castle doctrine andwe have protection from confiscation in a declared emergency. Steps in the right direction.

    Old Guy here, why Old Guy?  Because I am(64 this month) and have been shooting  since I was legal to
own a firearm.

   Wife and I are both NRA Endowment members, I am also a LIFE instructor as are at least 2 others here.

   Old school, bolt action rifles and Smith N frame revolvers in calibers larger than 40. 

   Doesn't mean that I don't know my way around "black guns" and autos.  Just don't have a need for 'em.

   Saddled up old Dollar, whistled up the furkids, Duke n his girls, Lady(Bug) n Foxy and wandered over
        from that other local place......
