hello all, my name is jerry, oahu born and raised. in my early 20s, college student at UH West Oahu studying computer science.

just purchased my first two rifles this week. but been into firearms ever since I was 12 when my uncle took me to the range to shoot his hunting rifles.

New member here.  Found this site while searching for Big Island ranges.  I mostly shoot airguns (no laugh!  cause I can plink in my backyard all day and it's more affordable than 9mm rounds)   but I also want to find a range (East Hawaii side) to practice with my PPQ.  Peace!

I heard that there is a new indoor range in Hilo. Not sure what it is called but might be worth checking out. LMK if you find it and let us know where it is.

Welcome, Larry, to the best firearm forum in the Pacific. There are some Big Islanders here that may be able to help you find a place to shoot. 

Just make sure you are on your own property shooting your air gun. Had a member get in a bit of trouble a while back.

Mahalos for the warm welcome!...  There is an indoor range in Hilo called White Shark Arms. Nice folks.  Kinda small range, but awesome for pistol shooting. Hoping to find something outdoor so I can stretch out some distance with other toys.

Mahalo for the thread link. That was an interesting read.  Yeah I only plink (airguns) on my own property. Even then, I mostly shoot from inside an enclosed garage (so the noise doesn't bother neighbors) out to some outdoor steel targets or paper. Gotta be a courteous neighbor, right?     Keep everyone happy.
