SB307 50 cal or larger Bill
« on: February 09, 2021, 10:28:41 AM »
So had the hearing today and the purpose of the bill is because Rhodes states that a 50 cal can shoot someone at a mile.  This bill would make 50 cal or larger illegal.  This means shotguns and pistols as well.

500+ oppose testimony
3 support

Acaiso was asking if the bill can be amended to exclude shotguns.  Favella is concerned because he got lots of calls from shotgun owners.

Death by a thousand cuts.
Ask for the insane and give up some points
as a "Compromise" so you can appear to be
reasonable.
I despise Democrats and RINOs.

Update: Bill was passed to next committee.  Even though 500:3 oppose/support.  Maybe it takes a 500:0?

It could be 500,000 to 0, and the committee will do what it wants.

Until these people are held accountable for their decisions through elections, they will continue to have no respect for the public which they "serve."

4got to add Favella asked Rhodes the purpose of the bill. Response was that it can kill someone from a mile away.

If I may speak frankly (after years of submitting lengthy (10-20 page) testimonies documenting the actual facts about the bullshit they would list in their "Section 1" (which is the rationale for the bill), I have concluded that submitting testimony is completely useless (here in Hawaii where the legislature is 95% fascist authoritarian statist Democrats). Our only relief (the exercise of our god-given/natural rights made legal again) will ever come from the courts. I still submit testimony, but now only to call bullshit on them in a more direct, less "polite" manner, and leave out all the documentation of how full of shit they are because 1. they don't read it, and 2. even if they did they would ignore the facts because some of them already actually know the facts and are merely enacting a communist/socialist/authoritarian agenda. So sue me. Fuck them.

These people will never be held "accountable" by voters, because the voters in Hawaii are at least 70% in the bag fascist authoritarian sympathizers (see the vote total for Bernie v Clinton, and Clinton v Trump, and China Bidet v Trump). Most of them are also relatively uneducated, uniformed [EDIT: haha... Freudian slip, as in "brown shirts"?; meant to type "uninformed"], and likely have relatively low IQs (but let's not get into that bag of worms). How could anything happen to leverage morons? Promise them more free stuff that the socialists? That'd be hard to do.

Might as well only submit this image alone for all testimony on all these commie bills where all those voting for them are clearly violating their oath of office to uphold the constitutions of the United States and Hawaii. Apparently they wouldn't know "infringed" if it bit them in the ass, which would be hard due to them having their head up there and their shoulders pretty much blocking any bite site.

Thus my conclusion that only the courts can restore the legal exercise of our rights here in Hawaii... and not likely by Hawaii courts, but somewhere up the chain of appeals courts.

Thanks for keeping up the fight. I know tons of guys who gave up.  That's not the right way because if everyone gave up, then all firearms would be banned.  And we have proof of this.  This year, they want to ban semi auto rifles, muskets, shotguns.  If they had zero resistance, they would have passed all these bills last year or the year before.  So only handguns would be legal.  But how long before they go after handguns next?  They're already going after P80s and denying the right to bear arms outside the home.

I think it’s time to stop looking toward the government to do the right thing. Looking to the courts for help is not an option anymore considering the snail like pace and COVID-19 gives them even more of an excuse for bullshit stalling tactics.

Time to start doing what the founding fathers did and start to develop more personal connections within our community. Mass non-compliance will be the next step.

Edit: just would like to clarify that while I feel like all this testimony and what not is hopeless, I do appreciate the hard work that Zippz does and everyone else who works hard fighting for our rights.

when was the last time a person was shot with a 50 cal a mile away?

Or who is capable of shooting someone from a mile away?

FYI.  .22LR High Velocity has a 1.5 mile range.

Being able to hit a target at that range, I would imagine, is pretty difficult.

Where would someone even be able to practice shooting at that distance.

The way things are going, 2A Hawaii will need to roll the "Preparedness and Survival"  forum in with the "Legal and Activism"

There is already mass non-compliance.

Heard it from an acquaintance.

Thus there is a government created mass of otherwise law-abiding citizens who are now criminals even though they have neither harmed, nor intend to harm, anyone, in any way.

Someone in another non 2a group posted that rhodes told her that their "overwhelming" testimony of 40 made a difference. Guess 500 testimony doesnt count as overwhelming.

On the bright side, we got Gabbard back on the progun side with his no vote.

Gabbard said "as a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment I respectfully vote no on this measure.". I think we did this.

And I didn't know anything about Acasio, an appointed Senator for Hilo that took Kaheles place.  He voted reservations so that's something.

it depends if those votes come from a group that can vote that person out. Not sure if Hawaii has the DoMyBiden voting system in place.
