it depends if those votes come from a group that can vote that person out. Not sure if Hawaii has the DoMyBiden voting system in place.

This.   They care about independent and democrat voters.  That's why we must be apolitical.   You think Rhodes or anyone would care if they thought everyone here was diehard trumpets?  They never had your vote and never will.   If they think their own constituents where the ones opposing and they could lose an election over this they would start to care.

Someone in another non 2a group posted that rhodes told her that their "overwhelming" testimony of 40 made a difference. Guess 500 testimony doesnt count as overwhelming.

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

I'll ask him if the 500 made a difference if I run across him.

Besides having met him in person at a 2a rally and seeing an article in Civil Beat his opponent Kevin never really had much exposure. I did see Rhoads ads which means he was definitely not feeling 100% comfortable. Not sure if 2a community is big enough to flip a seat, but we might have a chance if we link up with some other grassroots campaigns.

seriously?  you're going to ask Roades if our testimony made a difference?  or did I read that wrong?

We all already know the answer, it didn't make a difference, he already knew before the hearing what he was going to do, he had the necessary fellow committee members in his pocket to carry the vote.  bought and paid for.  I don't know what he promised them, reciprocal votes on some pet projects that Keohokalole, Kim, Lee, Acasio were willing to sell their integrity for? Soros money into their campaign coffers?  who knows.

don't bother asking, he will only insult you with his answer.

Kinda helps when your wife is Gov. Kermit's communications director.

Being able to hit a target at that range, I would imagine, is pretty difficult.

Where would someone even be able to practice shooting at that distance.

It is quite difficult. I don't say that from personal experience though, just from learning about long range shooting.

You have to take into account humidity, temperature, wind, the rotation of the earth, and altitude IIRC.

I hard an interview with someone with the longest recorded kill. He had to shoot something like 10 bullets, walking the impacts in until he could hit the enemy.

On the bright side, we got Gabbard back on the progun side with his no vote.

Gabbard said "as a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment I respectfully vote no on this measure.". I think we did this.

And I didn't know anything about Acasio, an appointed Senator for Hilo that took Kaheles place.  He voted reservations so that's something.

I am quite impressed we got 500 people to vote, great job here and by hifico! Did anyone give testimony via zoom?

I assume you will get notice out when testimony is again open for the next hearing. Maybe I will try calling the representives next time instead of just testimony or an email.

she was also part of the Mirikitani scandal

His trusted senior aide, Cindy McMillan…was given immunity for her cooperation and testimony. She quickly appeared to benefit by her cooperation and was given a choice position with one of the mayor’s favorite consultants. Later, she was appointed to Councilmember Duke Barnum’s staff. Shortly thereafter, she became a Director for Pacific Communications. Her husband, an attorney, couldn’t keep a job and is now serving as a State Representative.

Better yet, ask him if he is the voice of the majority of people (500 vs 4) as is his duty.  :grrr:

Btw the newest version of 307 includes Teflon coated bullets.     1980’s Miami Vice calling they want their cuffed linen suits, boat shoes with no socks, and Bren 10’s back!  The original Teflon bullets were created to give cops better hard barrier penetration - hard cover, car doors, windshields, etc.  The only reason the designers coated the hEaDs with Teflon was so they didn’t wear barrels out as fast.  The real penetration came from the hardened steel and copper that comprised the jacket.  Like they always do, the media claimed these bullets were cop killers since the Teflon made the bullets slip past the Kevlar weave due to Teflon’s slipperiness and lubricants.  NO ONE tell them that DuPont came up and patented both materials. 🤫

On a serious note, I’ve been adjusting my testimony for the next round of hearings based on comments Rhoads made during this last hearing.
