They will continue to issue both resident and non-resident permits.  Primarily it's to accommodate residents who travel and want to take advantage of CCW reciprocity.  Non-residents can also apply/renew, but if your state issues permits and have a reciprocity agreement with UTAH, you need to send a copy of your home state's CCW permit with the Utah application.

I checked the list, and for some reason Hawaii residents don't need to submit that.  So strange.   :rofl:

You can renew online up to 90 days prior to expiration of your current permit or within 1 year past expiration.

You'll need to watch a suicide prevention/education video, upload a passport photo of yourself, and pay $25.75 as a non-resident.  $0.75 is a "convenience fee" for applying online.

Doesn't look like it's difficult.  No prints, no medical records.  They do run a background check, and processing takes 2 weeks for them to mail you the new permit.

If I still was into snow boarding, I would consider living there. A cousin lived near near one of the nicer resorts when I was in college, but never got to visit.

I renewed my UT and AZ permits in Dec 2020.  Both was super easy to do.  Couldn't renew my NV one since that has to be done in state and I wasn't traveling due to Covid, but both the UT and AZ permits are valid in NV.

Yes, as long as you keep them up-to-date (not expired).

 They just passed 'constitutional carry'.

Montana was already 99+% "constitutional carry". Only a few cities banned it and required a state issued permit. A statewide law was needed because those cities are run by Democrats and there was no chance of gaining control of those legislative bodies and eliminating the restricting laws at the local level.

Sounds like they saw what has been happening in Virginia and decided to stamp out the big city Dems anti-gun BS before it could grow to a real problem.

Concealed Weapon can include knives, Tasers, etc.  In states that issue Concealed Firearm Permits and Concealed Pistol Permits (with "Pistol" or "Firearm" in the name), they often prohibit the concealed carry of any other weapon -- lethal or not.

Same for states that choose to omit "Concealed."  Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota are Permit to Carry states which means, you can choose to have your gun fully concealed or carried in plain view. Others call this LTC or License to Carry.

It's all a state-by-state situation.  Know the laws of each state in which you can carry.  This is especially true if you are using CCW Reciprocity.  Your License to Carry might allow open carry where it was issued, but it might only allow concealed carry in states honoring that issuing state's permit.
