The US empire's attitude to China has nothing to do with national security, as China HAS NO INTENTION of invading any nation outside of its borders.  The US empire's bellicose policy has more to do with trying to stop China's continuing economic growth, since the hey days of America's real economic growth are gone forever and never coming back.

It's not China's fault that the US empire can't economically compete, with the godfather of capitalism, in the East.  Its not China's fault, the ultrawealthy in America decided to sacrifice the livelihoods of Americans, in favor of cheap Chinese workers.  What is funny, is the ultrawealthy wants its subject citizens to blame China for their own personal financial situation and not the real Wall Street culprits, who have forsaken them, for slave-wage labor, in that very same country.

As for the "many other countries" you mention, I can only surmise you are referring, to the vassal states and occupied territories, of the US empire.

Africa has many countries where the Chinese are "taking" over.  Either racking up debt and forcing deals or other means.
