Gaetz was on Tucker Carlson's show last night to respond to the story.  He denies everything regarding the allegations of a relationship with a 17 year old.  He outlined AND NAMED the person trying to blackmail him and his family.  The man is a former DOJ official/employee.

So, when Gaetz, the FBI and DOJ had Gaetz's father wear a wire and meet with the blackmailer, the recording was retained by law enforcement agencies.  Gaetz wants the recording released, because it exonerates him.   

It's no coincidence that the news story broke a day before Gaetz's father was to make a payment of over $4M to the blackmailer.  That would have nailed the coffin shut on the extortion case.  Instead, this story ruined that opportunity.  Is it possible someone in the DOJ alerted the former employee of the investigation and told him the cat's out of the bag?

As long as the recording isn't "lost", the evidence seems to exist -- otherwise the blackmailer would have taken the money before releasing the smear story.

All this -- in the middle of the Biden border debacle.  Distraction??
