Just a thought. . . just because one doesn't understand or is incapable of comprehending, it automatically makes it "non-sequitur" or "misinformation". . .  8)

People on the Left who can't convey a cogent argument with a factual support basis will use what many call "$5 words" to try to make you feel even dumber than they think you are.  These are words they often don't truly understand themselves, but it makes them sound smart.

EEF is the king of non-sequiturs when it comes to posts here.  He loves hypotheticals, thought experiments, notional examples, creating context out of thin air, and straw arguments -- all for the sake of having a purely academic debate.  Most of that runs totally off the rails when it comes to the original video, article or comments.

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

There are so many words that I have to look up in those cases.  I have a college classmate that was famous for the 25 cent word with a 5 cent would do.  However, in many cases, they used the 25 cent work incorrectly.

[insert "I don't think it means what you think it means" meme]

That said, I think the "more expensive word" game is in general.  What I've noticed from more liberals are "it's been proven" stance from a perspective if what they read or was told. . .

The Liberal media loves to play that game.  On any given day, when one talking head uses an uncommon word in their main stories, every other agency will immediately use that word, too.  It's like they are sharing the same brain.

The word "gravitas" comes to mind, when the Liberal media was describing Al Gore.  That word was unknown to the general public, but it quickly became the word on everyone's lips in the media.

I don't (or very rarely) watch that stuff.  So unless someone shares with me and is like "hey watch this" I don't know "the catch phrases".

I've been listening to the HNN morning news/stuff when I drive into the office lately, so I get some of it.  What I find interesting is what gets said and how it gets conveyed later. . . can't necessarily blame of media misinformation though. . .

Then you have to put out more misinformation to counter the original misinformation in order to be as obtuse as possible.  :rofl:
