A Molokai deer hunt will cost at least $1500, all things considered.

Was hoping it wouldn’t be $1500 since the deer there are dying off.

I was born and raised on Molokai.   In high school we would walk across the highway from my friend's house and go hunt deer.  Nobody paid to hunt, except for mainlanders who went on escorted hunts on 2 ranches that offered it. My old time friends on Molokai, we are all in our 60s and 70s, say things are very different now, even for them. Can't hunt legally without paying.  So my Hawaiian friend says he exercises his native Hawaiian gathering rights to hunt like we did before. He shot this buck with his PCP rifle with a suppressor.   Quiet and powerful, perfect for "gathering ".
