Tesla is making a truck, so is Ford and many others. Large EV suvs too.
My next vehicle might be a cybertruck
I hope you researched this.
The CyberTruck (CT ) was announced 3 years ago and pre-orders began. There are about 700K pre-orders since. Granted, not all 700K people will still order one. But if you didn't put in your pre-order then bottom of the list you go.
They announce pretty much semi annually when the CT will begin production. Even early 21 was announced, and no they're saying end of 21. Same thing happened in 20 and 19.
Tesla made and sold 146K cars in the 1st quarter of 21 which is all 4 models combined. So if they had to also throw in the CT, there still will be a very long back log. Even with the new TX gigafactory completed since they are closing the CA one.
If you ordered any Tesla at the end of April 21, the ETA was up to 10 weeks. Beginning May 1st, Tesla sold out of all 2nd quarter cars, which means any further 2Q orders will be fulfilled in the 3rd quarter.
If you try and order any model today, it can take up to 12 weeks. Because Tesla's are made to order.
So with the above being said, this would mean at soonest if the CT is released at the end of this year, you will wait till at least end of 2022 for it to arrive. But realistically probably longer. So you will be having your gas powered car for a long time more, thus killing the environment.
And yet you didn't buy a cheaper used EV to last until the CT arrives. Pot----Meet Kettle
