https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2021/05/25/live-governor-mayors-announce-changes-hawaiis-covid-emergency-rules/

In what was described as a big step toward “normalcy,” the governor on Tuesday announced masks are no longer required outdoors, ocean sports would again be allowed, and several counties are poised to ease restrictions on businesses and gatherings.

That would be awesome.

Getting your rights back isnt awesome, they never should have been taken away past the "voluntary"  '2 Weeks to Flatten the Curve" 18 months ago. Dont EVER forget how far all these people over stepped their authority with ZERO evidence to back up their claims.

As Hawaii finally starts easing up on these ridiculous restrictions it will be interesting to see just how long it will take for HPD to ease the appointment bullshit for PTA.

I hope they keep an appointment option forever ALONG with in-person.

Does this mean group events like matches and the shooting sports fairs can open up? Don't care about mask requirements but want these events to be the norm again.  :)

Actions bays open again.  I think it's been open for 2 weeks, maybe more.  I shot in the bays last weekend.  It was awesome to be back out there again.  I know at least a few groups had IPSC/USPSA matches, but I wasn't able to make those.

Not sure about shooting sports fair.  I've been "quite" involved with that event for the last many years, and I haven't heard rumblings.  It's usually Father's Day weekend +/-, so I am assuming it's off this year.  I don't see a reason why it can't happen, but time for planning is one.  I am also assuming it's a C&C issue as well.   :(

Thanks to you and Macsak for confirming this about the action shooting matches being active again!

I go silhouette side this morning, first thing I ask the RSO if mask still required
He says not required, up to you if you want to wear it
But everybody wearing a mask so I keep wearing mine
1 guy takes off the mask and gets lectured by one of the silhouette guys to put his mask on
I tell the guy that got lectured that it's not required and he says he knows that but just no like make waves
Probably just going take time for everyone to adjust to the change

Make waves? The Gov lifted the stupid, unnecessary mandate. The "silhouette guys" aren't City workers and don't own that portion of the park.
fucking bullshit.

Yeah, I felt bad for the guy that got lectured. He was there with his gf or wife too. He left soon after that.  I agree it it is BS bc the mandate is no longer in effect.

the irony is that we go there to exercise the 2A and get the 1A taken from us.

Seems kind of stupid to confront someone you don't know at a place where people are ARMED!

Not everyone who goes to the range is mature and level-headed.

Regardless, had it been me, I would have summoned an RSO over to clarify for BOTH of us what the mask policy is.  If there is any more confrontation, it'll be the Karen who gets asked to leave -- as it should be.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
